What to look for when Training Camp begins...

Wrong... You can dress 45, with one of the other 8 as an emergency QB...

If we designated Edwards, he couldn't play at all, unless you pull Moore and Clausen the rest of the game... and Edwards could only play QB...

If you keep Pike, he still counts against the 53, and would be the 46th if we designate an emergency QB...

Don't know why I thought 46 on the active day roster. My bad.

And the best scenario would be to designate Edwards as a wide receiver/ KR as part of the active roster. Even when you designate your emergency number 3, you are allowed to play anyone of the active roster guys as your quarterback. So you make Pike inactive, designate him the emergency number 3 and you could use Edwards or Pike if it came to that.

And when you use your emergency number 3 it is already assumed the first 2 guys are hurt and won't be back in the game. That is why it is an emergency.

I see what you're saying, but I doubt we'd use Armanti in that capacity... If Pike was the emergency QB, we'd go with him over Edwards...

Hopefully, it wouldn't ever come to that anyways...

Chances are that Edwards will be at quarterback running the wildcat so I expect he will get work there during the season. I can also see him in goal line situations. He would be excellent on a quarterback naked bootleg after faking it to Williams or Stewart. Other than Moore he is likely to be the second most experienced guy as the season unfolds.

This is why I think it would be best to keep Sutton at the third running back spot and really devote some time and effort to converting Goodson to a slot receiver. He brings the speed we need in the passing game and -- aside from his punt return attempts -- has shown good hands.

I'm hoping Goodson has been working his ass off on running routes and becoming a receiver.. that is going to be his niche here at Carolina. with his agility and acceleration he could be very dangerous.. but he has to run routes and catch the ball first.

What about the RB situation? Right now it's: 1) DWill, 2) Stewart, 3/4) Goodson/Sutton

Now that we have 2 FB's on the roster, I think the idea of using Sutton as a FB is gone. I REALLY like Sutton though, and frankly would rather have him than Goodson.

here's something to think about...when was the last time there was a true battle in training camp for the number 1 and 2 position?

I think we'll finally see one see this season, and it should be very exciting.

The Cement Truck would be way too fast to hit Jarrett. Besides he prob take the wrong route and miss the parking lot all together.

Fiz will find a way to calculate his incorrect route and set him up to run into the parking lot "on accident."

Of course, this assumes that Fiz is capable of such mischief, which he is.
