A pro bowl selection or a playoff win would go a long way to make everyone believers.

I have been totally against Bryce from the start and wanted Stroud.  If the Panthers are in the playoff picture come mid December and Bryce is a big part of it, I will forget all about Stroud

Crazy to think that it took him being benched and humbled to turn it around. Only concern I have is if he somehow reverts back to week 1 & 2 next season. But impressed with the way he played after his benching in every game, outside of the Cowboys games where pretty much everyone on the team looked like ass.

Yeah, I mean I think for me, the 5 TDs was very impressive, but 21 total TDs over 12 games started indicates a decent-to-high level offensive production, especially given the circumstances (defense, mainly). So reason to be optimistic, but like you say, others have given reason for optimism before and not delivered in the longer term.

Fwiw, I could see Daniel Jones having a resurgence elsewhere - if he isn't broken anyway.

I am more interested in his efficiency and cutting down on the turnovers.  The Dallas game was bad, mainly because they were getting pressure straight up the middle, but other than that, after his benching, he threw the ball well, and gave us a chance to score.  The offense as a whole became more productive when Bryce came back.

In truth, I felt the New Orleans game was one of his most impressive games as a starter.  The stats don't look as great,  but he threw well under pressure. And took us into Saints territory three times during the second half.  86 Yard drive for a td and 59 yard drive for a td.  Chuba ran it in for both td's, but Bryce played very well in getting us there.  And the third time was a interception when Bryce made a fantastic throw, and XL had the ball ripped out of his hands by the defender.  Have to admit that was the first time in Bryce's time with Carolina that I felt positive about Bryce.

Just curious to see what the arguments are if you don't believe in him. I have never seen a turnaround like this tbh, a player that looked so lost and bad turn to a guy who looks and has the confidence of a star.

I guess it depends on what the actual belief is…

worth the pick? Will be a top 5 QB? A solid starter? And on and on.

end of the day he has a small handful of promising games.  NFL history is a full of dudes that had that….and you then can follow the different paths all over the map

During this season my dial started at “Wait and see but not at all optimistic”. Then after two games the dial went to “Experiment failed time to move in another direction”. Now, post benching the dial is at “wait and see but very optimistic”.

He now looks like a legit starter and may be the long term answer. I’m proud of the young man’s determination and resiliency and he deserves to be the starter next year. Would still like to see him progress further but things are moving in the right direction for sure.

Matters more if the team believes in him than what people here think. They are saying he's their guy, which means continuing with the type of moves we did last offseason to get more out of him. Higher expectations for Bryce requires higher expectations of the organization.

Depends how you define "believe in." He improved a ton post-benching but that improvement still did not yield franchise QB level play in my eyes. I certainly "believe" he could continue to develop and improve and maybe get to being a franchise QB. But as it sits right now I still don't think it's super likely that he will be our answer at QB long term. I hope he does and am rooting for him. But I do believe there are physical and skill limitations that could hold him back, and as much as he did improve he still has a long way to go to actually being a top QB. He's shown enough that I am ok going into next year with him as our QB, but we should still evaluate other opportunities to get a franchise QB if they are there. Although really unlikely for various reasons I would consider drafting Ward and trading Bryce away. Otherwise I don't like the QBs in the draft or FA/trade options so Bryce it is for another year anyways.

At this point, its important for him to put together a full season of good play. No more benching, no blaming the roster and coaching staff. He will be in his 3rd year, you have to build off what you did the second half of the season and show no more regression because you have clearly shown some form of success with the situation not excellent. We shouldnt end up going into year 4 having the same conversations and questions. If thats the case then punt the whole thing and start over.

His pocket presence, ability to avoid pressure and ability to stay calm and deliver the big throw is a total 180 from his first 18 games and makes me believe he can work himself into a perennial top 10 QB

Like I have no clue how he was able to fix that so quickly. There are QB's who have been in the league 5+ years and haven't figured that out (Darnold)

Bryce has earned another year but he has had like 5 good games in 2 years.  Would be crazy to be 100% sold on him.  Need to see him lifting the rest of the team up throwing 300 yard multiple td games and some playoffs.   As i stated in another post andy dalton passed for thr most yards in a game this year and had the highest qb rating in a game this year then fell apart.  An offseason of teams with film on young and how he responds next year will be telling.

    • https://fansided.com/nfl-mock-draft-abdul-carter-3-teams-trade-up-packers-falcons-panthers NFL Mock Draft: 3 teams that should be willing to trade up for Abdul Carter Abdul Carter's College Football Playoff performance could cause these three teams to trade up for him in the 2025 NFL Draft. Rucker Haringey| 5:50 PM EST Penn State Edge Rusher Abdul Carter / Scott Taetsch/GettyImages Edge rushers are not as popular as quarterbacks in the NFL Draft, but guys who can sack the quarterback can cause teams to make aggressive trades to acquire them. That's why Abdul Carter could be the subject of significant trade interest in Round 1. The former Penn State standout is widely considered to be the top edge-rusher in this year's class. Some analysts like him enough to believe he should be in contention to be the No. 1 overall pick. Predictably, his agent is not holding back in his praise for Carter. Drew Rosenhaus has already gone on record with his belief that his client will be a "future All-Pro." That might be a premature statement for some NFL scouts, but there's no question Carter has the sort of speed and bend off the edge that pro teams covet. He looks like the most likely pass-rusher to turn into a double-digit sack artist in this year's draft class. That's why the following three teams may be looking to move up the draft board to add him to their respective defenses.  3. Carolina Panthers The Panthers would love to stay put at No. 8 and let Carter fall to them but his stellar play during the College Football Playoff means that won't happen. If the Panthers want to land the draft's top edge rusher they need to move up several spots in Round 1. Carolina's defense was historically bad in 2024. They were certainly hurt by Derrick Brown's season-ending injury but their pass rush never got going. Expecting Jadeveon Clowney to come back and boost the group in 2025 is more of a hope than a plan. It's unclear if coordinator Ejiro Evero will return as the team's defensive coordinator. That raises the possibility that the Panthers could switch from a three to a four-man front. Carter has the versatility to play as a standard defensive end or a standup outside linebacker depending on the team's system. The Panthers might not have the appetite to give up more draft capital after dealing for Bryce Young so recently, but they could be tempted by Carter if he starts to fall on draft night. 2. Atlanta Falcons The Falcons have been looking for a top-flight edge rusher for what feels like years. Matthew Judon gave the unit a little extra oomph in 2024 but they still lack a guy who really forces opposing offenses to shift their blocking schemes. Allowing Grady Jarrett to eat up blocks on the front line would free Carter up to rush opposing quarterbacks with reckless abandon. Atlanta needs to find a way to help their secondary by increasing their sack totals. Carter is a perfect fit for what the Falcons want and need to do on defense. The challenge for the Falcons' front office is that moving up from No. 15 into the top five will be an expensive proposition. Atlanta must be convinced that Carter is going to be a superstar if they are going to pay that kind of premium. Edge rusher is the franchise's biggest need and they have to find a way to come out of the draft with a defensive end with star potential. 1. Green Bay Packers  The Packers need to come out of this draft with a new starting cornerback and an edge rusher who can make an immediate impact. That might make it impossible for them to pay the immense cost to move from No. 24 into position to take Carter. It's still a move that GM Brian Gutekunst and his staff need to consider. Rashan Gary will return on one side of coordinator Jeff Hafley's defensive line but the other edge position is open for business. Carter would give the unit a speed-rushing option they don't currently have on the roster. If the Packers want to go from good to great in 2025 they need to take some big offseason swings. Some of that can be accomplished in free agency but the draft will be a key component of the team's evolution. Making a bold move to go up to grab Carter in Round 1 would serve notice to the rest of the NFL that Green Bay is ready to compete for another Super Bowl title.
    • I'll take that. This changes things. Titans, Browns and NY need a QB
    • Yeah I think Abdul put up better numbers and had an extra year to get polished.  Parsons was still an All American selection as a sophomore and was considered an elite prospect
