I was thinking of that option - spying him. But that makes absolutely no sense. You'd lose a guy in coverage. That would be playing into his hands as he prefers throwing in the middle of the field. You'd be better off just delayed blitzing that guy. And if you try to spy him with a LB or DL, then he's not gonna make the play.

Bryce is a threat on the ground but he's not the kind of threat you want to take guys out of coverage for.

It'll be interesting if rushers start playing to contain instead of collapse the pocket immediately. If that happens, he'll get a few more seconds (milliseconds anyway lol) for routes to develop too. In that case, more/better offensive (whether developed or acquired) will be critical

Mothergrabber was trying yo throw shade on him after one series.  And TD went full retard shortly after that.  Fun night

Are you gonna call Coach Cowher a retard too. Even he and others acknowledged that Stroud was only good during the second half. He took off not quite near the beginning of the third quarter. Of course the defense was making it a lot easier for him, but like I said, concentrate on that half of football. That's your best bet, because Stroud did not play great this season, or even good as the season went on. Bryce was certainly better later in the season. Deal with it!

Lots of people setting themselves up for disappointment in the future.

Might be. I am pleasantly surprised by his turnaround from week 2 to when he got back in the lineup.

I'm ecstatic that he played well enough that we won’t waste draft capital on another QB in this meh class.

We can see how he looks in 2025 to see if DCs will take him more seriously and solve for him with all the video. I’m just glad he looks decent and we can focus on the D that was the worst scoring D in NFL history.

Yeah I'll call bullshit on only good in the 2nd half. Go look at the last two drives of the first half footage. Actually watch the game.  Stroud struggled Q1. Turned it around in Q2.  Did you even watch the game?  Kinda sounds like you didn't.

Bryce has had 12 OK games as a starter... Let's hope he continues it... But the reason we need to focus on "the end of the year" is because that's the only time in the last 2 years Bryce has looked looked respectable...

He already said he didn’t watch.   And this hill he is choosing to die on is so fuging bizarre.  Not one gm.   Not one person in the nfl would choose Bryce over stroud right now.   But he is on a quest to prove that stroud is a pedestrian qb.  It’s fuging nuts all things considered.

I didn't realize that... Nobody should comment on a players play within a specific game if they didn't even watch it... I mean Stroud led a 99 yard TD drive in the 2nd quarter lol

He only had one game that was not really respectable after being benched, and that was against Dallas. His career game, so far, was of course the last one.

Who didn't watch? WTF are you talking about about? I know you can read and comprehend. Let me say it again for you: Stroud was pedestrian his sophomore year, so much so that Bryce closed the very wide gap on him in reference to QB efficiency. Deal with it!

The move was to wait for the QBs in 2025. That was the move. And that's what a betting man would bet the house on moving forward.

So we're bashing Stroud for winning two playoff games but also patting Bryce Young on the back for playing well late in the season when we have nothing to play for?

Probably would be a good idea to wait and see Bryce Young actually play good football in September and October for once before passing judgement on other young QB's.

Who has passed judgment? Y'all are a piece of work. You act like stating the obvious current trend on QB efficiency on two young QBs, including ours, is passing judgement. I know some of you have a difficult time comprehending, while others of you feign it. The story hasn't been written on either Stroud, or, more importantly, Bryce Young. As I am a Panthers fan, I am infinitely more interested in discussing Bryce, and not just in a negative sense whenever the topic of Stroud comes up like some...and I'm not going to apologize for it, and I'm not going to apologize for being tired of the understated shots at Young whenever the two come up, and I'm certainly not going to continue to discuss either of them within the context of the past, and definitely not going to negate the larger context of their current situations when comparing them presently and speculating about the future. Deal with it!

    • Here is how this draft could get mind-blowingly complicated--Interesting comment about Jags floating the Jeanty idea to lure Chicago into a trade.  I have to think Ben Johnson is going to duplicate in many ways the success he had in Detroit, and I have to think their free agency was following the blueprint Carolina designed last year (one that the Saints designed before them with Brees) and they upgraded all of their interior linemen.  RT in Chicago is set; Johnson loves RT Darnell Wright.  However, at LT, Braxton Jones is coming off a December injury and is considered to be in a competition for the position this year by at least a few fans on the Bears Wire.  His PFF score, however, was solid, posting an 80+ score in pass protection and 70+ score in run blocking.  He is in his prime.  However, in some of their fan mocks, the Bears are taking a LT.  I thought they needed an Edge to play 4-3 strong side across from Sweat, but they signed Odeyingbo to a pretty big contract in March. For the Bears, in my view, it comes down to TE or Running Back. Kmet is their #1 TE and he had 474 yards in that role, which was 25th in the NFL last season for TEs.  Adding Warren would help upgrade the TE spot and give them the ability to add around an estimated 80 yards of production per game.  The Bears have D'Andre Swift at RB, but could use a RB to pair with him for a desired 2 RB attack.  So if I am Da Bears, I stay at 10 and take Warren.  If the Jags want to move on from Etienne, then they will take Jeanty. I think, if I were the Jags (with 10 picks this year) I would take Mason Graham and not try to get an 11th pick.  It is a need position, and it seems to me the only reason they are toying with the idea of moving on from Etienne is because Jeanty is on the board.  That, to me, would be a luxury pick. New GM, I think he does not get cute--they take Graham if they stay at 5.  I might say the Jags' biggest need is Corner.  #5 is too rich for Will Johnson, but remember, they have 10 picks.  could they move up with Cleveland and take Hunter, giving them a CB and WR threat?  To me, with the draft capital they have, that is the move they should make.  Cleveland then could move back to #5.  Remember, Nick Chubb is an aging (29) free agent coming off an injury--so he is gone.  With an additional second rounder, the Browns move back and take Jeanty to give Flacco a running game. The Jags pick is very interesting, but I would not be surprised to see them move up.
    • Walker is a good player and comes from a great defensive minded school but there a questions about him. He could be a superstar or bust.  You trade down and will get a player with similar concerns and you jump into the middle of the second round where there are some good players.  YOU'RE not getting a 1st next year and a 2nd for 8. These mock simulators give you fair value for the most part. I've tried and most counter offers were rejected.  We trade down get a good first round graded player and jump into the middle of 2nd round and not having to wait for 57.  Plus if a stud falls to the late first or early 2nd round we could package 46 and 57 and get him.
