Smitty and Clausen's first int

If someone in the media asked him what happened on a certain play where he threw a pick, he would shoulder the blame, I have no doubt about that. Even if it was completely the fault of the receiver. That's what your franchise quarterback is supposed to do. I don't care what he says to them in the huddle, as long as he isn't tossing blame around in the press.

There is this wicked little part of my brain that would like a ringside side the first time Claussen and Smitty have a disagreement :reddevil:

Honestly though, I think the only reason Jake lasted as Smitty's QB over the years was b/c he exclusively targeted him (to throw to) and he never faulted him for anything or called him out.

I don't care if it's Jimmy Clausen, Matt Moore or Tony Pike, they aren't gonna say sh*t to Smitty, or about him to anyone. They've heard of these guys - Anthony Bright and Ken Lucas.

And that goes for any receiver of the like, but especially Smitty. Almost always, even when the WR is at fault, the QB looks like a passive aggressive vagina. Garcia, McNabb, Romo with T.O. Carson Palmer with Ocho. Jake actually didn't come off that way, but that was b/c he showed so much emotion on the field. Behind closed doors and face-to-face, we all can imagine how that went as well. You've got to cater to those guys or you won't last long.

The way I see it, him blaming the WR on that gruden segment that EVERYBODY is looking too far into is more indicative of his behavior in the huddle and during practice rather than his behavior in front of the media.

I'm talking about DURING the game and IN the huddle.

what the f**k are you talking about? When did I even mention talking to media?

You have to be smart about how you do it in-game too. Jumping all over a guy isn't always the best route to go, especially not if it's a guy you have to depend on.

Being a tool doesn't equal being a leader.

I agree. He wasn't answering that question like it was a reporter asking. He was being straight-up and honest with his coach. The receiver screwed up.
