Dwayne Jarrett to be cut *rumor*

Jarrett always looks good in camp, right?

If the staff likes him, but doesn't believe he can bring what he shows in camp to the game, then I can completely see them cutting him before camp (or trying to trade him, but who would jump on that?). If he's cut now, he can pick and choose the best spot for his skill set, and get on there with the benefit of a full camp.

If the staff couldn't care less about him, then they'll hold him for yet another camp to help push the other receivers on the roster, watch him play in a preseason game or two, and then cut him when there's not much chance to get on another roster.

This is all contingent on their final acceptance that he's a practice star who can't translate what he shows there to the field.

And BTW, if you missed House's reference with that simple test, Jarrett totally blew that call in a game situation twice last year, resulting in penalties both times. That's a third year receiver who still doesn't know where to line up. Yes, he didn't know after THREE YEARS of practice. Want to make a case that he deserves a fourth?

i say try and trade him to seattle for a pick or something, Carroll is collecting former trojans like pokemon over there.

lol. Pokemon.

Is he collecting these used Trojans out of the garbage?

maybe here is the real answer

jarrett is house money until cuts come. why cut now? you can place him on the scout team squad in camp if you want to give lafell and the others time to gel with the starters and second string. he is at least camp fodder atm. if he produces better and somehow gets it you can keep him, if not cut him in the middle of the preseason as cyberjag suggests.

i am not going to be surprised if he is gone though he has had time to learn and still hasnt.

I hate to be harsh but if anybody is either wanting Jarrett to go to mini camp or get one more year I have to question your football IQ. I really, seriously do.

question it... he has done nothing but be productive when he plays and gets the ball thrown to him, how is it a bad move to keep him? we had a WR coach that didnt know what he had and a qb that could only see one person, and the opposing Defenses saw that and took advantage of it. Who have you been watching? do you watch the game or just read the media? cuz the media has been harsh on him, but they probably just read the stats like you cuz if you have ever seen his ability to catch anything then you wouldnt want him to get released. not to be harsh but i'm sick of people saying he is a bust, DELHOMME WAS A BUST

Delhomme was a bust last season, not the seasons prior. He wasn't all-pro, but he was very far from horrible. Besides, Jarrett couldn't even get ON the field to be ignored most games, which has more to do with how he looks in practice and with preparation. That's all on him. Hell, I think Charly fuging Martin got playtime over him at least once. Kenny Moore almost always did.

Being able to catch isn't all there is to being a WR. Route running and getting separation consistently are also major factors and he does neither real well.

Ok, I'll question it. It's either your opinion, or the collective opinion of the entire coaching staff and the number one wide receiver.

If it makes you feel any better, It actually took me more than two microseconds to make my decision on who to believe in more. So you did better than most people would expect.
