I really think we picked something up special in Clausen. I have always thought he was a prick, but he has the opportunity to show the fan base he's not a douche and fun to root for. Give it time and maybe he will mature quickly. The NFL is a much different atmosphere than college.

He could be a consistent Pro-Bowler type QB and I'm in shock he fell to us.

yeah that ^

None taken, I actually agree with you. I understand our pass rush sucked so bad, but Garrard is a back-up at best, and there was so much more talent at 10 then Alualu. So basically the 2010 draft consisted of FOUR DLine men. I don't get the decisions they make.

And the fans not showing up doesn't help anything.

If it helps, I think Alualu is going to be better than G. McCoy.

Makes for a cool ass jersey too. Which, with the Jaguars financial situation probably played a big part in his selection.

Reminds me of a situation with another quarterback we used to have except winning was a relief not just fun.

We hated Jake because he sucked not because of his personality.

If Clausen had Jake's personality I'd love him.

I already said I hated Clausen coming out, I just don't like him. That being said, I'm not mad at the pick. I wanted a top level talent at WR with our first pick, but you can't pass up a Top 10 guy there. We may have just drafted our franchise QB, like it or not... I was pulling for Matt Moore, but may the best man win.

aww man, that was a bad pick. we have a carbon copy of alualu named charles johnson who we got in the 3rd round in a much less deep draft. alualu was 3rd round talent in most draft classes. in this draft class he was more 4-5.

Pierre-Paul, Clausen(who the Jags were sorta high on), Earl Thomas, were on the board, and if not they claimed they couldn't trade down, still there was better talent at 10.

He is also the biggest f*ckin' crybaby and if we start to lose or he throws a few bad picks he'll start to give up mentally.

As bad as ND was, I never remember a situation where Clausen mentally took himself out of a game.

I'm happy with Clausen coming here. I was hoping that we wouldn't trade up to draft a QB, Moore has earned the starting job and we have a number 1 pick next year. But Clausen or McCoy being available are too good to pass up on, in my opinion. We drafted WRs too, another big priority. I am curious about the selection of Pike, the NFL scouts generally frown on QBs from 'spread' offenses, and he had trouble staying healthy. But he is a big kid, that's for sure.

In the 6th round with a compensatory pick he was worth the risk/reward ratio. He has the physical tools he just needs to develop them.
