For at least a week I’ve noticed embeds haven’t been loading and I’m often unable to reply to threads because pages never finish loading.

Im typically on a phone, and it’s happening on safari and chrome.

It feels like a runaway JavaScript issue.

Looking at the site on a desktop in dev mode, I’m seeing some serious issues.

10k+ warnings

hundreds of errors.

endless requests

100MB+ of data transferred .

I don’t have time to dig but it’s pretty obvious that its the ad networks the site uses.

Can this be fixed?

Musk fuged up Twitter, you used to be able to change the "X" adress to Twitter and it still worked for a while but he did something else to finally break it. They stopped embedding on Discord around the same time. Dunno about the other stuff. I use the Brave browser on my phone and laptop and it works fine.

It definitely needs a lot of love.  I have constantly problems on mobile.  Way more than any other site I ever visit.

Yea I noticed some buggy issues the last few months and I’ve been told that he has checked out of the page. Some here are friends with him on FB and socials I think. Maybe they can get him to do an update before next season starts

Man, I can't even get him to fix the password recovery. We've been forsaken. I guess It's better than nothing though.

If that's the case, he should cede a little authority to someone who would fix some things. There are probably a few people that would fix the Huddle for free.

I don’t think this is twitter related. This site has always been insanely inefficient with no memory optimization and it’s just been getting worse.

a cheat I have found around that issue on the iphone is in the thread you want to post in that hasn't fully loaded to normally post in.....hold a quote button on a post and have it open a new tab.  For whatever reason, I can then post in the new tab of the thread.

The site hasn't been updated in a decade. It would cost Jeremy money to updated it and he's a cheap bastard so don't hold your breath. This place is like his dilapidated shed out in the backyard.

I assume he is self hosting this and not using invision hosting which includes auto updates.

If he’s self hosting, updates cost $200.

I don’t think the lack of updates is the issue though.

This looks like problems from the ads, which is something we’ve seen before.

I've been using an ad blocker for years and I do not see any.

I miss how this place used to be. And I don't want that to be a knock or blame anyone- 7 years of suckage will decimate anything.

Hopefully, though, with the team improving it will become a great message board again.

I know I've complained some, but it's bc i remember how incredible and widely viewed by Panthers fans this place was.

I'm more than willing to chip in for a site update if that's all that is required to make it more usable.

If someone (mods) can figure that out with Jeremy, I'll be happy to contribute/Venmo so we can keep this place going

    • https://youtu.be/NdU-A7QLcHk?si=9VZCoMjMOMfxxWjQ   Look at it if you want to feel good about Bryce. If not, do not.  Sure, he was playing against a bad Falcons defense, but he showed a masterful understanding of what was going, where the pressure was coming from and who to get the ball to. And just as important, he made the throws, and at many times they were throws of anticipation. He knew where the receiver was going, and let the ball rip, sometimes before the receiver was anywhere near the ultimate catchpoint. That's not only keen understanding, but chemistry. Moreover, his footwork, sliding away from the pressure, resetting his feet, or flat out taking off when the play was breaking down foretells good things in his future. It was a very far cry from his very first outing against the Falcons when fans and pundits alike began to sour on Bryce out of the gate. What a difference observing and learning makes. One thing Chase said is that we need to get Bryce some more weapons, and I'm all for it. It's an offensive league and if nothing else Bryce showed that he can actually score points in a dogfight. That's always a good thing in today's NFL. Lastly, but by no means less important, is the fact that Dave Canales seems to be learning and adapting his game as well. Situationally, that was probably DC's best game as well. He realized Bryce was cooking, and he let him cook. Sure, he threw some runs in, but that's what you're supposed to do: use the run to set up the pass and the pass to set up the run. Moreover, the play designs were solid if you listen to what Daniels was saying. Canales is obviously very in tune with his QB, and offensive players in general. History says that he knows what he is doing. I kinda trust him to turn a lot of attention to the defense and help EE get that straightened out (even though I'm still skeptical of the scheme). The last game was interesting and was, in many ways, a revelation that our QB and HC may have a higher ceiling than many of us ever thought possible. I'll be fascinated to see what types of things will be addressed in the offseason. I'm feeling hopeful for a reason.
