Moore in much different position than Delhomme.

when jake was the guy, there was really nobody behind him to give fox a ton of incentive to make the switch. thus fox waited for an injury. hindsight tells us he could/should have actually made the switch.

things are differnt now. moore is backed up by someone who isn't just labeled as someone who could fill in in a pinch but moore now has a guy behind him who many of the experts believe is a true franchise quarterback. if moore falters, there is tremendous incintive for fox to give jimmy the reigns. the hesitantcy fox showed in staying with jake does not exist now so the pressure is really on matt.

can moore handle it? he is still largely unproven. he had a few nice games ending a season against teams that were resting players. he still hasn't proven himself as a true starting quarterback. last season, he was a backup playing for an injured starter. this year he will, and should, get the chance to be the actual starter but if at any point he doesn't look like he's up to the task then there will be very little reason to remain committed to him when you have a franchise quarterback waiting in the wings.

good luck matt. you're going to need it. i hope you can be what many believe you are and prove yourself worthy.

just as long as one of them pans out, it ruined derek anderson and brady quinn..although they might of sucked without competition anyway..

yeah, you guys are right. that was a trainwreck i cleveland. i too am pulling for matt to, at the very least, give us a solid 3 or 4 years to develop jimmy but this is a strange situation as most rookies develop behind experienced starters. claussen will develop while moore is really developing at the same time! then, there's pike.

the quarterbacks coach has a full plate with 2 rookie qb's, a rookie qb to convert to a wildcat qb/WR/punt returner as well as develop a former backup into a starter!!!
