he was OUR worst pick. We had bigger needs then a back up qb, he cant beat out Moore so there was no point in drafting him, and about him being a "top 10 pick"? BULLSHIT, top ten? or the third round right? there were reasons why every team passed him up, even the bills passed on him, the raiders passed one him, so what does that say? we f**ked up by taking the "best projected" pick when we were in need of other players and posistions, especially taking pike in the 6th, thats where you draft a back up, not with your first f**king pick

He can't beat out Moore? Moore is an UDFA with 8 freakin starts....and all of those starts were in mop up duty.

Moore showed some promise, but he is far from a sure thing or a proven commodity.

Whether he wins the job this season or not, I will bet you right now that Clausen becomes the QB of the future.

I don't think this is that bad of a pick. Pike is supposed to have a lot of potential. Maybe he can send Cantwell back to the practice squad.

we are not trading moore now. he may not be here in 2011. thats the question. if there is a lockout in 2011, then it may not be so bad to get a young backup in pike. i still wanted depth at OL 1st. i like the player, not the pick.

when it happened it was an absolute wtf, but still want to know what the plan is with moore, as this is a huge wtf if you keep moore past 2011. you can get a 3rd qb from UDFA or FA. i can see this only if moore is considered a stop gap or #2 just this year. otherwise, its a pick hoping to get tallent back later and thats risky (it could go either way gain or get nothing).

This was a ZERO risk pick. We used a COMPENSATORY pick on a QB with some upside.

Everyone wants to believe Moore is the next comining of Tom Brady. He looked solid in a few games....but stunk up the field in the preseason.

I am not writing him off or not declarign that he will be a solid starter. Just that none of us shoudl be willing to turn the keys to the kingdom over to him with no competition.

You are ragging on Clausen and Pike....remember that Moore was nothing more than an UDFA.

I'm not going to do the whole Moore vs Clausen thing until I see how they both play..(Also Golden Tate didn't bail him out in his comebacks.. he actually spread the ball and found the open receiver a lot of the time. Dude never complained about his defense either. So while people say he has attitude issues because he pointed out how a receiver ran the wrong route, he's not doing it to throw people under the bus, he's just saying he knows the playbook, and in an attempt to impress someone he ended up showing "character issues")

But for the people who say Clausen was a wasted pick because we got Pike...

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA you're joking right? Pike comes from a system entirely opposite from ours. Him dropping back to pass from under center is a Football Follie waiting to happen. Bring on the Lulz. Srsly. Pike will end up either on the practice squad or put on waivers and picked up by another team by the end of training camp. Bank on it.
