Panthers take Tony Pike

No question that he's the best available. Probably was with our last two picks as well. Can't hate the pick. Clausen or Pike will pan out, the other will get traded for better value than where they were drafted.

Bank on it.

yeah. We're definitely trying to get talent that can become great trade values imo. We're making relatively smart moves and I really don't mind this draft. LaFell, Edwards, & Gettis all have a ton of potential with LaFell capable of becoming a solid starter for us. And now this: Moore/Clausen/Pike three different QBs that will sure bring the best out in each other by simply being on the team. Please remain calm people.

Pike was pretty much an insurance pick. We finally have 3 legit QB's to choose from. One will be a back-up, the other a starter, and the last of the three will be traded for a pick in the years to come and we will get that pick back. Panthers are definitely addressing the QB and WR spots. Have to like that plus Eric Norwood is a beast!

Actually its a damn good value pick. Now we have a really really nice qb competetion at the least and at the most, matt moore will be traded for a skill player

Well with QB how many reps can you really spread around with what, 4 or 5 QB's that are ALL young? Moore, Pike, Clausen, Edwards (though he's supposed to be WR obviously) and possibly whats his name...cantwell?

    • Will say, as I've dug into things, Mike Green is absolutely legit.   There are only 3 appropriately-sized guys in this class with over a 20% PR win rate, 99 percentile PR skills: Abdul Carter, James Pierce, & Mike Green.  All 3 of those guys are 3-4 molds, but not undersized or poor in run-d grade by any means. Will say, Pierce would not be a bad option at 8 if Graham IDL & Johnson DB are gone.  Those 3 are the top.  I find it hard to dispute.  Gillette arguably falls into this category, but his run-d isn't at their level or else he'd be viewed much higher in this class.   Then comes the appeal of Jalon Walker who's this offball/edge hybrid.  Overall, just a stud football player. Then there's the consistent, hard-nose, above average type in Sawyer.  Nothing flashy, but he's a known commodity, seems like a dude primed to join an upper midwest team.   But the guys floating around 10% PR win rates that aren't necessarily stud run defenders, I just don't want much part of.  Mykel, Shermar, Kennard are the types that worry me.   Now, the pass rush specialists, give me those guys like JT, Princely (stud), Donavon Ez in R2-4...instantly insert them into our sub packages, PR downs and let them cook.   Some really interesting options.
    • Not a single one of these signings hurts us, or even costs us much, but it gives these guys a reason to stay in shape and keep working toward making a team. Sounds like a few guys who need to be part of a reclamation project and maybe we will find a diamond in the rough there. Sounds like some good, lower cost options for back-up O-line there. I wonder if the player from Ghana would count as a foreign investment player and allow us to keep an extra guy on the roster. That could be really handy, if I am correct about those rules.
    • Finally.  I've been waiting days for someone to make this joke.
