Panthers pick Norwood, South Carolina defender

I think we're looking at versatility. We don't know what the FO drafted him for. He could be playing SLB.

He could be decent there true but if we start doing that we will end up with a Davis type project that bounces around for 3 or 4 years. Never getting established anywhere. Edds could start from Day 1 at SLB.

Everyone thought Davis was a horrible pick also and he is one of the best OLBs in the league now.

It took 4 full seasons for him to become that. I'm not saying it was a bad move but it would be nice to get a little better production earlier from our picks. Maybe I'm being picky.

Again you don't know what your talking about. Get Out of the Draft Book and watch the kid game flims. He made more big plays then Edds in a better league. He was on a top college defence that was center around him making play after play after play. He comes right in and battles for SLB job bet it.

agreed, Thomas Davis was a borderline project and now hes one of the best LB in the league. To think we have norwood with beason and davis to mentor him is great. Sometimes taking the best available player is the right decision. Why are we second guessing the picks right now? The panthers have lived in the draft the past decade...im glad we picked norwood...he ate LSU's lunch a few years ago.

So I assume you watch every play of Edds then or are you judging him based on highlights and stats? Sure Edds has next to no pass rushing ability but at SLB who cares how much did Diggs blitz again. I like Edds more because of how good in coverage he is. Which is Norwoods biggest weakness.

i don't think we're going to be able to keep all those guys. wallace is the receiver, right, i think? he's gone with all the receivers we have now. we only have so many roster spots. some others are on the bubble.

I think hudson will get the boot as well as kenny moore

diggs actually blitzed as much as any other linebacker, and he was good at it.

Takes that long for most players to become the best. Gamble is another example of why your wrong.
