And that is why Panthers got Edwards...

This was a smart pick because we need depth at WR and at QB. We addressed both with one player. He goes on the roster as a WR/KR/PR and maybe plays in some wildcat plays. I bet we go into the season with just two QB's on the roster, but we also have a third string QB listed at another position that we can put in the game without the penalty of not being able to put Moore/Clausen back in. I think he could have been had with a later round pick, but with all the WR's going off the board Fox/Hurney didn't want to take any chances and made the move. Was it worth giving up a second round next year? I don't know, but the pick itself was smart.

Nah I think Im going to hold hands and sing we are the world after every draft pick and predict them all to become superstar hall of famers like Armanti Edwards will be.

Some people don't agree with your opinion. Does it bother you that much? I know the intrawebz is srs bizness and all but geesh man... let it go.

Look what New England did with Julian Edelman. He was a QB out of Kent State. When Welker went down this guy stepped in and had 10 or 12 catches in one game. I am seeing a better version in Edward in the same position.

Bottom line we have been bitchin and moaning about receivers and IMO we got just what we needed. i wanted Benn and Shipley. Benn to fill the Moose role and Shipley into the slot. Instead we get a better pick in LeFell and Edwards fills the Slot.

This is a good pick.

The draft is going to happen wether there is a lockout or not. Its not going to affect who is a productive player and who's not

If theres a lockout, then theres a good chance alot of players next year who would normally come out of college, instead stay another year. Thus making it a possibly pretty weak draft class.

He's projected as WR in most mocks. Panthers drafted him to play WR.

You fail for not doing your homework, mister. Do you really think we gave up 2nd for him so he can be #3 qb? Come on, bully.

No, we drafted him to be a "playmaker". We have no clue if he can be a WR...but we sure hope he can. You made your post after Guilyard and Ford were taken, correct? So your point was, THAT'S why we already have Edwards, bc there are no more WRs left. Correct? Well they were both there, along with at least one other WR when we picked WR...and if anyone said he was a better WR than those three...well they need to find a new profession because Edwards has not proved he's better.

We picked him because he's a playmaker, and local.

The gamble is still far safer than trading for a QB in an attempt to make him a WR

I like the pick. Yes he's a project, he was drafted to be a KR/PR which he's never done before. However he is an amazing athlete and has some serious speed running a 4-4 40. He's got tremendous upside as a WR. You never can tell what they could have gotten next season in the second and on top of that next years class is expected to be weak.

Some places had him rated highly as a WR. Just depends on where you look. He's a play maker, he's local ( being local doesn't help much when the Panthers have PSL's) and a great athlete that was taken as a project at WR and KR/PR.

How so? We traded a 2nd in what very well could be a weak draft, to get a third in a very strong draft. In addtion we are most likley going to posses two thirds. So its not like were out of he 2nd by any means next year.
