And that is why Panthers got Edwards...

Wasnt talking about him specifically but in general if anyone DARES to criticize JR for anything people cry about it.

I agree but we havent been winning alot. This was clearly a PR move. JR decided not to sign players and let Peppers walk so he can pocket some extra cash then he raised ticket prices on top of that. He had to do something to keep the local fans still interested so here it is. Smart business move, terrible pick though that had nothing to do with winning games.

Uh, dude, most people (because they aren't die-hard fans) haven't heard of Edwards and I doubt he will make that big of an impact. Sure, he will be useful and has the possibility to be an important player in the future, but I don't think he is going to make an impact right away.

I just don't see how you can say this is a PR move. Actually, I can; :icon_bs:.

I dont see how you cant. There are alot of App state alums in the charlotte area. They're alot bigger in this area than you think. So yeah Lots of people have heard of him. JR took one good look at him and all he saw was- $$$$$$$

Edward isn't a WR, you fail. He may become one, sure, but there were actual WRs on the board when we picked.

He's projected as WR in most mocks. Panthers drafted him to play WR.

You fail for not doing your homework, mister. Do you really think we gave up 2nd for him so he can be #3 qb? Come on, bully.

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAH

Armanti Edwards is a PR pick!?!

HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAA

That is the most outrageously idiotic things I have read in a while. I'm sure that ticket sales jumped by 18% because we drafted Armanti Edwards. HA! Come on man, I don't care if you want to bash on JR but at least don't say stupid poo. If you think that JR just became "fixated on the almighty dollar" you are niave. He is a business man, he has always been concerned with making money.

Edwards was a smart pick there. Especially with the way this draft is going. If a team wants a player they are taking them, doesn't matter what the experts say, its been happening the whole draft. The Panthers obviously liked Edwards and wanted so they went and got him. He has a chance to follow in the Randle El, Edelman type player.

If you watched any App State games you would know why Edwards played QB. In fact if you watched any DII or DIII you would understand better. QB's at that level aren't usually QB's because they are the most accurate and best passers but because they are the best athelete's on the team. Edwards is a hell of an athlete and if he can make the transition he will be good.

That's the problem. People are not thinking, even if they were capable. They are overreacting. The draft is not even completed yet. You have to give them a lot of credit, especially Fox. He knows this is his make or break year, and he drafted a potential franchise QB. Let the draft play out, take a few days to evaluate, and in 2 or 3 years say what really happened rather than what you assume will happen, fighting thru ignorance.

Funny, because you defending the trade was easily the most idiotic thing Ive heard.

Great athletes dont always translate into great players. App state has a huge following in the area. You're fooling yourself if you dont think more people will go to the games just to see him. JR made a great business trade. Too bad it wont translate into winning games.

lol @ all the people who are upset with the Panthers picking a true, trough, smart football player. This kid will find ways to contribute and impact our team this year, while he learns to be a receiver from Steve Smith and our receiver coach. This kid could very well end up being a starting receiver in less than 3 years, and a huge play maker at the position. Bet all you tight wads would be singing a different tune then. Go ahead, bitch and gripe about every pick ya can, after all that is all you are qualified to do.

What player could we have drafted in the third round that would have def translated into wins?
