panthers draft grade D+ ?

dont know this prick but I dont agree

Carolina -- D+ : You can justify the Jimmy Clausen selection based on value alone, but the Panthers could have been fine heading into 2010 with Matt Moore at QB and passing on Clausen. The Brandon LaFell selection at No. 78 was a solid one. Trading a 2011 second-rounder for Armanti Edwards, though, is baffling.

results on the field are all that matter.. since '05, we've had good drafts. to predict we are doomed in this is entirely premature especially when we have a basis from past drafts to show we may be pretty good at this whole drafting thing...

then again, it could be a bad draft.. who knows. we'll have to see..

what I do know is we have made the best attempt at filling our roster with some winners and let's hope they pan out.. because giving up a 2nd for Edwards to be mediocre in the next 3 years isn't kosher...

I have a feeling that they moved up for Edwards (and I love the pick) because they got wind that someone was going to grab him very quickly. Remember that few players drafted outside the top 20 picks got as many teams to come to visit/Pro Day as Edwards did. He also visited a number of teams.

And look at what he could do for the team: return man -- desperately needed and he doesn't seem afraid of the challenge; quick wide receiver that understands routes from a QB's point of view and is tough to bring down -- check; and don't forget that his numbers as a quarterback for passing and running (yards and touchdowns) throughout his career are among the best EVER posted by a college quarterback at any level.

Claussen, well, I thought he was going to Cleveland, but we snagged him. I hope the knock on him not being a team guy is all bull, but if not, he'll have to change fast around here. He'll have some work cut out for him with Moore ahead of him and Edwards behind. He may, however, be our franchise quarterback. We can only hope.

Lafell, hmm, I hadn't even considered him. His pedigree with a national championship team looks good and he has to be an upgrade over Jarrett.

I'd give us a solid B right now. Hope we can find a DL on the cheap.

the way i look at it is fox has never had a 1st round bust in his tenure. i'm wholly convinced they would've taken clausen if he had dropped to their original pick in the 1st round, so that pick alone should give us a good draft grade. d+ for getting the 2nd best qb that late, plus a solid receiver, is just vindictive. the guy obviously doesn't like our team. that's bull.

Other than the Jaguars he gave us the lowest grade. HOW? We got a guy who could be the best QB in the draft. Plus he comes into a perfect situation. Go-to WR, Dominant OLINE, Dominant Running game, and a decent defense. A-

Brandon Lefell is a big time blocker and can make some impressive catches. Has the potential to play as a number 1 WR. Here he will compete with Jarrett for the 2nd WR spot. B+

Amarti Edwards. Um don't like what we gave up to get him but the guy is a gamer. We will see if the gamble was worth it but i like the player so a C- is a cautious and pessimistic grade.

You add those grades together you don't get a D+. More like a solid B+
