I like all three picks........The trade doesn't bother me, he fills a need at WR and KR/PR even if he's never played the position. Gave the 2nd day of the draft a B-. Solid picks in Lafell and Edwards and Clausen is the biggest steal of the draft by far. In 5 years will be one of the 5 best players from this draft.)

So far I'm loving what we've accomplished... Love the QB value that late in the draft... Love the WR value... Love the overall player that Edwards is... Reminds me of a younger Smith in the open field... Maybe even a little more of a Vick type in the open... Love the player, unsure about the trade... It's obvious the Panthers didn't see him lasting into the 4th round... This kid can be a very dangerous weapon, even in a limited role for us next season...

For now I'm going with B+/A-

Fox coaches vets, molding an offensive weapon like edwards goes against Fox style, thats all.

Did you read my post? I like Edwards and skills but for a 2nd round? Simply not worth it. A second round usually isn't used for a 'project' player.

I don't understand why everyone is so pissed about Clausen. Everyone agreed before the draft that QB was a need. So, we pick a very good QB and every flips. Why? He poses a threat to Matt Moore. Competition is always good. So is having an insurance policy.

I also like the LaFell and Edwards pick. LaFell is a great blocker and possession receiver. Edwards is a pure playmaker and winner. He will be a star sooner than later.

All of that being said, I like the draft so far. Our offense is going to be dynamic for a change. No more one dimension, no more Steve Smith being triple covered.

I'm not gonna write out all my reasoning again, but here are my grades:

Clausen: A-

LaFell: B

Edwards: D+

B overall so far, just because early picks pbviously mean more than later picks.

What are you talking about, we did get 2 receivers.

Edwards was on several team's radar, it was the range where he was valued and wouldn't have lasted to our next pick.

Exactly. Folks who say we could pick up Edwards in the 5th or 6th obviously haven't been paying attention. Edwards was listed as the 11th receiver on the board but the 4th or 5th rated quarterback. He would have not been there in the fourth so we moved up to get him. I remember last year when we got Martin people were complaining that it was a waste of a pick. The same thing with Irvin. Both guys are going to be expected to contribute this year.

Edwards is the same kind of pick. You may have found guys who can contribute more in the here and now but Edwards may end up being a great pick down the road. Ithink it is a pick that I may not have made but in the end it may be a solid one.

My grades for where we picked them=

Clausen- A+ for where we got him

LaFell- B+- I think there were better guys still on the board

Edwards- Incomplete- hard to grade yet.

Overall- B+

At least the off season isn't boring anymore.........

Carolina is the perfect fit for Clausen. If he was going to succeed in the NFL this is the place he needed to be.

People also wanted excitement and Amanti Edwards is nothing if he is not exciting.

At least now the Panthers are getting the national coverage and "respect" that so many have always wanted. The "experts" seem to love the moves the F.O. made. I will be sad to see my favorite term "Under the radar" no longer used.

LOL at all the people butthurt that we traded one of next years picks to get a player, but not the one they wanted. "We could have traded up and gotten Golden (apparently tarnished) Tate."

Clausen- "franchise" QB fell to us. Now we'll find out if it works. B-

Lafell- Younger, faster Moose. We need that. B-

Edwards- The reason we jumped had a lot to do with New England wanting Edwards, and having the next 2 picks at the time. They called and said "We might take Edwards now, how bad do you want him?"They either helped us or played us, time will tell. B-

Spend the rest of the picks on defense. There are still some quality guys falling.

Can't believe Clausen fell to us at 48. Glad that trade we tried didn't work out. Great value pick and a franchise QB in the minds of many. Love Matt Moore so looking forward to two good QBs on the team. Great luxury.

LeFell is the replacement for Moose. Possession WR and great blocker. Said by some scouts to have huge upside.

Edwards! i love the pick. The guy runs a 4.2 forty. A return man, QB, WR and wildcat package all in one. You don't find someone that versitile often. Glad the Panthers did.

If we get a good DE today I will give the draft an A.
