Where is all the singing of the praises for Hurney and company, now? If all the whiners were truthful, then they would admit that Hurney and Fox do know how to sniff out some talented guys. The problem with them, arguably, has been that they don't know when to give up the ghost on an under-performing status quo, not that they can't see talent (when said talent is obvious and not so obvious).

Enter Jimmy Clausen, Brandon LaFell, and Armanti Edwards.

If we are lucky, one of these guys will turn into a superstar. Odds are that at least one---if not two---will be extremely good at what he does. No one was picking Clausen or Lafell to be busts, and Edwards' je ne sais quoi was too good to pass. In fact, many people had Clausen in the top 10, so I am sorry i just can't cry about picking Clausen. I know that many have jumped on the Moore bandwagon, but if he is the next coming of Jesus Christ, then someone forgot to tell our FO. Moore is still a greenhorn who is going to have to prove that he is better than JC (not Jesus Christ, but Jimmy Clausen, lol), and yes the pun is intended.

Look guys, we have some holes to fill on defense, which you know we will, but our team just got better IMHO, and it's not like we didn't fill some gaping holes on offense (and probably special teams), regardless of whether Moore or Clausen takes the helm. Our FO is not finished, and like many of you have said before, the FO knows more about the team than we do.

They're complaining because no one will remember their bitching if the players were good, but if they bust then they can all act like they were smart. Too bad that acting is the closest they'll ever get to actually being smart, but it is what it is.

I think the picks were great. Clausen's either a home run or a backup QB, and how often do you get a chance at a home run QB in the middle of the second round? LaFell is probably one of the safer WR picks in the draft. He's not a speedster, but he's physical and productive despite lousy QB play and a run-first offense. Edwards has a lot of upside, and in the third round isn't that what you should be looking for?

We got a long-time starter tonight. We may have gotten two if we're lucky. If we got three, then given who they are and the positions they will play we'll probably look back at this draft as a major point in franchise history, just because of the Clausen pick.

I fell asleep and woke up after we drafted Clausen.. my immediate reaction being half dazed was of extreme disappointment.. many hours later, I like the pick and this draft a lot so far..

if we can grab up another WR, I would feel even better.. and shore up the DLine with prospects of the future... in whichever order we get BPA..

Until Clausen can become 6-2 as a starter, Matt Moore should be the only consideration at QB for now.

Absolutely, but the guy just got drafted, so he should be playing back up to Moore unless Moore goes down or if quite possibly he shows the makings of the next f-ing Peyton.

I'm not in live with the draft but it could get a helluva lot better depending on what they do today. Guys like eversen griffen, Greg hardy, and others are still available. We have a lot of picks left so let's see what they do.

Oh and isn't it hilarious that people thought we'd pick Marty gilyard in the second round and he didn't even get picked before amanti Edwards? I tried to be the voice of reason bit no one would listen.
