I thought he would struggle greatly here, among other struggles..

But for the life of me, I do not recall even 1 tipped pass across the DL.

Anyone back that up??

Weird that Baker mayfield had huge issues here and the second he was another team, he was cured......

Guess All I have left is a lack of QB sneaks........

This might've been the source.

Does anyone have a list, Ive tired to look and I get no where....

Its not that important, just off-season chatter and just one thing more thing I was wrong about BY.....

This guy says it at the 5:00 minute mark.  Only place I’ve heard it.

Should note that Brees also was pretty good at not having passes batted down.

Not sure about 2024 but Mayfield still had an issue with batted passes in his first year with the Bucs. He is 6'1" which is still short by NFL standards. It's possible it's a case of something Mayfield does that telegraphs to a defensive player when he's going to throw.

His footwork in the pocket has improved, he's using his eyes more down field to move defenders and he's challenging defenses more with his legs so dlineman can't put their hands up and lose leverage as much anymore. I feel like he was afraid or coached not to run last year or schematically put in back positions where he didnt have flexibility in the pocket (majority of snaps in shotgun, bad run schemes)

There is a column for balls batted down at or behind the los.

FYI, Baker Mayfield still gets a lot of them batted down.  He had 20 last year.  I think that was highest in the league.

Bryce had a lot of problems.  He still has a lot of issues he needs to fix.

But even when I turned my back on him, one thing I've ALWAYS been consistent about is his size is NOT the issue people make it out to be.  His issues were issues I've seen 6'5ft guys have.  His lack of size stops him from being able to compensate for those issues like Cam Newton could, but they weren't size-related issues if that makes sense.

I still need to see more out of him next season, but his size is the last thing on my mind.

i mean how much can you blame a QB for tipped passes??

With an improved oline, especially interiorly, its hard not to give the kudos to the o-line since it is thier job to keep defends hands down....

But I cant say Qbs dont play a factor, but really how much? Either way, glad to see it!

Perhaps we should give credit to Canales.  Everywhere he's gone now, he has fixed QBs.  Bryce Young looks to be his greatest work yet.

It’s okay, brother.  I’m still working off my first helping of crow.   There’s still plenty to go around.

Bro I ate the "Hes not tough enough crow last year, same this..." and the "playing better than evar thought capable of" pie this year. Not like Im holding to hope about being right, but this is not over even with the late season spread he laid out. I will happily eat more crow if he continues to play better. I've already joined the "he needs another weapon" group.

you are right and that's a good point. I've been hard on Dave and BY. Each are young and learning, Im honest in saying I had no hope for the pairing. Each showed at times growth, moxie(lolols), and enough to give me some first feel hope. I was super impressed with the 4th game winning drives that others fail to finish. Both had to deal with poor defense and lack of talent, many times they over came it.

Passes batted down. Can't see over the middle. Extensive injuries

All issues with Bryce being too small. Did I miss anything?

Im guilty on all counts.... I'd like to use my panther prayer for judgement please....

    • Let's do math: If the Giants take Sanders (still some are saying they will--I do not think they will) at 3 it could get interesting. 1 Ward Tennessee 2. Hunter Cleveland (A need at WR#2 with Jeudy and an upgrade at CB#2 to replace Emerson)  I also think they will watch Sanders and move up from 33 if he drops, but not in this scenario) 3. Sanders  NY Giants (This is the hypothetical that could change the way folks are thinking.  I do not think they do this, frankly, because they just signed 2 qbs.  In addition, they have 2 edge players--but both will be paid second contracts in 2026, so the smart thing to do is draft Carter and trade Thibideaux.  However, they just took a third or fourth look at Sanders so it could happen) 4.  Carter New England  (Everyone has Campbell going to the Pats because they need a LT to protect their young QB.  Aging Harold Landry is their top edge and they were bad in that area in 2024.  Take the elite edge over the short-armed OT--this is where it gets wonky) 5. Jeanty  Jacksonville  (Most mocks have Graham here, but there are whispers that the Jags like this dominant RB and will take him.  All hell just broke loose if this happens) (This is going well for the Panthers so far if they draft at 8. ) 6.  Walker, Vegas.  (The Raiders have a need at RB they can address later, Edge, and WR--and I think they can address WR later.  If Jeanty is gone, they could take Hampton or think Edge and take Walker to play across from Crosby.  A few are saying that if Jax takes Jeanty, the Raiders are likely to take Walker, creating a situation where you have Crosby and the Micah Parson's project.) 7.  Campbell, NY Jets.  (Tyron Smith just retired.  With a new QB coming in, many had weapon TE Warren hear, but nope--LT and one could argue RT are priorities--If Campbell is gone, Membou--either way, they are taking an OT). 8.  Graham, IDL, Panthers.  Imagine a DL with Brown, Graham, Wharton, Brown III, and Robinson.  Imagine going live at Panther practices with the OL vs the DL.  Id pay just to see that.
