i thought they said they never offered a 1st to move up?

Someone else posted a quote from an article that mentioned it.

Regardless, 48 and 78 wouldn't have been enough to get to 33, so I don't know what else they could have been offering. Look at the trade for 89 if you want proof that we aren't offering picks from this draft.

Correction....hes not the starter ...Its Matt Moores job until he takes it away from him. Matt moore has been in this system longer than he has. So None of that jibberish means sqaut

Matt Moore will have to shine quite bright to beat Clausen out. John Fox will make sure of that. Even though Moore is the better QB.

To answer the OP.... nope, not at all.. I'll leave it at that.

I believe that it is Moore's job to lose... Just like when the Eagles drafted kolb, the packers rodgers and the Chargers Rivers. In those situations the starter who was in place at the time excelled, or continued to play well. If Moore plays above average Jimmy will be on the bench for a few years. We will come to the point when it will be time to decide and receive value for the QB we part ways with.... This is only if Moore performs well.

John Fox will not be in charge of how much Moore shines. Unlike before Moore can't be hidden on the bench. We will see him perform, he will be starting day one. If he performs well there will be noway the coaching staff could make a change....

Yea the coaches decide to make a QB change after the panther start the season 5-1... ect... not gonna happen. This is still Moore's job to lose. I'm hoping he comes out playing well, on fire and with a chip on his shoulder.

lol you haven't seen Clausen make a single throw in the NFL, you can't possibly make that call at this point.

All the signs point to this. Moore's on a one year contract, Fox dose not like Moore, Clausen is a Wise QB,and John Fox and Wise are friends. I would not be saying this if it were The Golden Calf of Bristol but just connect the dots and it leads to Clausen starting over Moore. Its the same situation that happened in NO with Aron Brooks and Jake Delhomme. They were damned and determined not to start Jake at all cost.

Clausen will start over Moore if he's BETTER than him.

You guys criticized Fox for being too loyal to Delhomme, but you guys are JUST as bad with being too loyal to players

Ultimately, Matt Moore has no experience playing in the NFL when it actually MATTERS. And in that sense, they're on the same level.

I dont get that statement. All games matter in the NFL cause its not like the coaching staff says "OK were not gonna game plan and were giving up cause it dose not matter". Moore is the better QB cause he is Proven. He has won NFL games and Clausen has not. Still that dose not matter cause Fox dose not like Moore. End of story.

If Matt Moore hadn't won any of games he started, what would have happened? Nothing. We were eliminated from the playoffs already. We weren't playing for anything. Matt Moore didn't have ANY pressure on him to win. Nothing was riding on it. He COULD have played well simply because the game situation suited his easy-going personality.

Hell, he shat himself during the 2008 preseason when he had the chance to be the BACKUP. Maybe he's not meant for the pressure of starting for an ENTIRE NFL season.

WE. DON'T. KNOW.

They openly said they were trying to trade next year's first to get high enough to take Clausen.

Show me where they tried to trade next years first then. The panthers tried to move up but they never offered a 1st round pick. Hurney was very adamant about that.

Yeah...taking an athlete that is smart enough to play qb, that is a playmaker with the ball in his hands is stupid. Thanks for showing us you iq. This guy will have an impact this year... on special teams and offense. Steve smith and our receiver coach will be able to coach this kid up.

Hmmmm didnt they say the same thing about Pat White last year? Just because you are a great athlete doesnt mean you can transition to any position you've never even played before. Let me know when you're ready to play again.
