The best thing about this board is seeing people cry NO MATTER WHO THE PANTHERS TAKE.

We've already said we're not putting him on the roster as QB, but as a WR.

But he has the ability to play QB and could fill in as the 3rd string QB if we go that far. Plus we have other guys that have a better chance of seeing the field on special teams than Cantwell will as a 3rd string QB.

I think that we learned a few things tonight....

-Our coaches have faith in the DT's that we already have, or can get in FA to pick up the system

-Apparently QB was a bigger concern than most realize since it became clear that we were trying to move up to the 33rd spot to pick Clausen

-Most of the players we thought to be high regarded turned out not to be so (Tate going at 60, Everson Griffen still being undrafted at this point speaks volumes to me)

Armanti I admit was a surprise to me, but I think he's gonna be a hell of a slot receiver once he gets acclamated to the system.....there are plenty of former QB's that became WR's in the NFL (Boldin, Ward, Randle El are just a few standouts). In fact, he may become what Julian Edleman was for the Pats, only with more speed and big play ability.

Clausen was too good of a QB to pass on.

Whether we want to admit it or not, all we had at QB was an UDFA that has played 8 games. Don't get me wrong, I liked what I saw in him last season. And, I think he will be a solid starter. However, all we had was an unproven guy. This was a huge value pick.

Moore played well two seasons ago for a few games. Then, he looked like dog poo in the preseason before getting hurt. Then, he played 5 mop up games this year....but he looked solid.

Lost to New England...looked decent.

Beat NYG....on the backs of our RB. And, the Giants were a train wreck at the end of the season.

Beat Saints....back-ups that is.

Beat Tampa Bay...there is a reason they were picking 3rd.

Beat Minnesota....best game of the bunch. However, the Vikings were struggling for the three games around that time.

As I said, I like what I saw in Moore. But, we have had shitty QB play for so long that we are way over valuing what Moore did and is.

Picking Clausen this late in the 2nd round was a steal.

LaFell is a solid WR. I thought we would have gone with speed, but he should be a very good addition.

Edwards is a great athlete...could provide a wildcat dimension that we don't have....maybe woudl be an asset in the return game...and is a project at WR. This is the one pick that I am unsure of. He seems more like a luxury pick for a team with few needs.

i think our draft has been quite good so far.

legit qb to challenge Moore.

good blocking wr to replace Moose and help the run.

Josh Cribbs style wildcat gadget player who we can plug in many places.

don't be too upset about what we traded. draft picks don't strap on helmets and win games, players do. it doesn't matter if you draft them in the 1st or 7th if it's a guy you think is going to help you win football games.

I will be very curious to see how our coaching staff use Edwards.

I assume he will see time at KR/PR with his speed. Definitely adds a wildcat dimension.....rather than that Mildcat that we run by direct snapping to DLo. We are not fooling anyone with that play.

I think he may have upside as a speedy slot receiver, but he will be a project here.

If the coaching staff scheme ways to get the ball into his hands 5-6 times a game on offense and then have him return kicks, I like this pick.

If we plant him on the sideline as the #3 QB, then they should be shot.

he definitely adds some big play potential. he has a strong arm and will only get stronger when he adds some NFL weight. line him and the 2 backs up in the wildcat, roll them all out, and give him the option to take off or bomb it 45 yards to Smitty if he's open. it will be unreal.

How many QBs do we generally activate? 2?

If it's three we could put Edwards there, because I don't know he gets activated as a receiver.

When you have a third QB on the roster, he is always the 8th inactive. And if he goes in, the first two cannot return.

Having a guy who's officially a receiver as the third QB allows them to get around that rule.

i'm hating this draft less than i did a few hours ago.

clausen was too good to pass up even though 31 teams already had, some of them twice. at least we didnt' trade up to get him. one way or another, we probably have our QB of the future whether it's moore or clausen. moore might be a stop gap for a little bit but i think clausen could step up to center and be much better than what jake was last year.

clausen is the guy that you love to hate. that makes me almost happy to have him on the team. funny, he seems to be the anti-jake.

as much as i hate to admit this, moore's time as starting QB for the panthers may be over before too long. it's a shame cause i really like him but i would rather have the QB that gives us the best chance to win and that most likely is clausen.

lafell could be a good pick up or he could be another dwayne jarrett. better QB might bring about better results from our WRs no matter who they are.

edwards at least shows they want to have a creative offense. he could be pretty exciting to watch and make attempts at the wildcat that you know they are going to try a good bit less embarrassing.

i'm not optimistic about the draft but i'm trying. fortunately we still have 6 more picks. hopefully a couple of them will be good ones.

as unhappy as i am about this draft, though, i still see us as having a .500+ season. still have to shore some things up on defense.
