For all of you Panther fans who have been b*tching about Armanti here...wow. Some fans you guys are...jeez. Have you even SEEN this guy play football??? I've been to all but 2-3 of ASU's home games (I even attended the Michigan/ASU game in '07) & Armanti Edwards can play football!! He's been our QB for the past 4 years, but a lot of the plays he made (just like The Golden Calf of Bristol) were running. ARMANTI EDWARDS CAN RUN!!! He can throw very well too so he's going to be the ultimate wildcat weapon for next year.

Mardy Gilyard would've been the better pick here, he has proven himself and would have been a great slot guy. I'm no pro, but the kid did win the Division 2 Walter Payton award (equivalent of the Heisman in D1) two years in a row. First to ever do that. He can't be nearly as bad as all the haters on here feel he will be. We bitched all year about not having a speedy elusive KR guy. Now we have one, but wait lets whine a bit. I wish I could go back and read some threads about when a 5'9 182lb KR/PR guy got taken in 3rd about 6 or 7 years ago. That little punk played junior college ball before he could even go to a university game. I guess we shouldn't have taken Steve either. I am surprised he didn't quit after his first NFL hit. I think we know better now.

Give the team a chance. We are young, we are def fast, and now we have options we haven't had in a long time. Edwards will likely end up being a damn good option as WR in a year or two and will help immediately in our always struggling ST play. I am going to give these kids a chance before I piss and moan about them.

Edwards is a rare athlete, in the Reggie Bush mold, I think he'll do well here.

speaking of goodson i think we will see him more at receiver this year, as far as edwards maybe he can be kr/pr and run deep routes at first, maybe some wildcat who knows, but nobody can denie that he is a superior athlete who i say take plenty of hits form LSU's of the world and kept on coming. he may also allow the panthers to carry only 2 QB's and open another roster spot since the 3rd QB rarely plays

So is he a WR? A KR? A QB? He was a tough rascal up at App. But at 187 can he take an NFL hit? I think the Panthers overpaid for him but Hurney and Fox have a tendency to give away picks like candy to a baby.

I think what many are missing is what some have alluded to. While, most likely, not on the same level, A. Edwards gives the Panthers a special teams weapon akin to J. Cribbs and D. Hester. His shiftiness and elusiveness should immediately upgrade the return game.

Add his addition to the addition of the other special teams aces, and the Panthers special teams, for once in a very long time, could be just that . . . special. Everyone with a slight bit of football knowledge has seen how R. Bush, D. Hester, J. Cribbs and even the little guy that played for K.C. a few years ago (#82, i believe) can change the face of a game with their return skills. Many of you are missing the fact that A. Edwards should give the Panthers that special teams game changer.
