I was just on the phone with my father and right when I was about to tell him that the Patriots have 2 third round picks and that I hope they trade one to the Panthers...BAM, it happened. I think my dad just lost his hearing in his ear after that happened lol. I was hoping for Price though...

I'm having hope and I'm going to not make any assumptions until I see these guys play. I realize the draft grade for them and how their were potentially better players, but I feel like I want to see these guys in action before I judge them. What if LaFell turns into Muhs but better, I mean, I dunno. What if you see Shipley in action and he is a complete bust in the NFL? I just dont really know until I see them play for real. So I am going with cautiously optimistic.

LOL. The front page of ESPN and NFL.com feature our pick. The word "Panthers" is being used more time tonight than all of last season.

Getting Clausen and making the bold move for Edwards pretty much made the panthers the talk of the draft day 2. Mainly Clausen....

      Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
