So the Patriots are apparently looking for a #1 pick in 2011.

and 2nd and a 3rd is way too much unless they are both very late in the round.

We got a 2nd and a fourth in 2009, and even if the Patriots traded us 47, that's later than what San Fran traded us.

If THEY'RE looking for a 2011 pick, they obviously are putting more value on it than we anticipated there would be.

Both of their 2nd rounders wouldn't be out of question.

But again, that's IF the Patriots are actively pursuing another first in 2011.

Patriots have three second rounders I thought...toss in two of those and maybe a fifth rounder and I'll take it. Even without the fifth, not a bad deal if its the two picks ahead of us they have.

Draft up a McCoy and a Tate/Benn in the second, focus on building depth with the rest of the draft. I could see it.

BUT....I just don't see it happening.

Uh... no?

We've got plenty of compensatory picks this year. If we tank, we might need a high first rounder next year to help continue the rebuil... err... youth movement.

Hmm one mid/late rounder in a weak draft in 2011, or two 2nd round picks in a deep class in which most of these second rounders would be first rounders in most years.

GOLLY I'M SO CONFLICTED.

You are correct.

Plus were going to get a comp 3rd for Peppers next season. So we'll have 2 3rd's next draft.. I don't see the big deal in trading out of a weak 1st round and into a deep 2nd round filled to the brim with 1st round talent.
