We'll pick up some trash heap veterans for this year after the draft anyway though, so multiple lower round picks may not be that valuable and the rookies may not make it through camp.

I say trade next years first to get another 2nd round pick, if not multiple selections. This is the way the FO has chosen to do their business this offseason, they haven't signed anyone so it is critical that we address as much as we can the next 2 days. Plus we could probably put someone on the trading block to land back in the 1st next year.

Who would you be willing to part with that could potentially have first round value?

Beason, Gross, Otah, Stewart, Williams, Davis, Smith.

Those are our best players and are the only players on the entire team that would have any chance at all of getting us a first round pick in a trade and even any one of them isn't that likely to net a first rounder.

I could trade Wharton, and maybe(if the deal is sweet enough) Gross. Who knows Charles Johnson might explode and not want a new contract. I just think getting what we can now is the best approach. We will already have two 3rd round picks next year, so we might be able to trade up in 2011. Plus we could always trade 2012's first rounder.

eh, depends who is there.....we have needs just as big as WR. Depends on the talent. If those guys are gone they should draft a WR...but it doesn't mean they should automatically trade down. There could be a good lineman who fell some.

As usual I agree with you Mr. Scot.

However if we can get who we want a little later (for whatever reason including if who we actually planned to get goes early) then I would definitely say trading down for an additional pick would be a decent idea.

Indeed, but if the payoff is good enough it's at least something worth considering. Overall I agree with your stance posted previously though.
