If Clausen isn't brought into the right situation, he will become another Ryan Leaf... He needs to check his arrogance at the door, and learn to take criticism...

That said, I still think he has better tools than Sam Bradford, and is the safer pick for anyone targeting either...

Clausen will be gone earlier than most are thinking, and The Golden Calf of Bristol will go in the first as well... maybe even Colt McCoy too...

Mel Kiper believes this as well...and i tend to believe it. but who/where?

The Golden Calf of Bristol won't fall past the Vikings at 30, I don't think...

Clausen is a big question... I think someone is going to move up to get him, and I don't know who... If Pittsburgh gets a deal done with Ben, I could see them having interest in him... Otherwise, keep an eye on Buffalo, Cleveland, Oakland, Minnesota, Denver, San Fran, or Seattle...

Whats the analysis on this LaFevor dude?

I personally like the guy. He has good size 6'3'' 230lbs. I think he is The Golden Calf of Bristol with a quicker release. Makes plays with his feet. His throws are accurate and have zip in the short passing game. Played out of a shotgun offense so taking snaps under center will be a learning process. Had a good Senior Bowl game throwing the winning TD for the North. I think he is an excellent developmental guy. He would be a fun project for a QB coach. BUT..i have to admit that Jarrett Brown intrigues me a LOT more. J. Brown is a pro style QB that will adjust quicker in my opinion than a long list of more hyped and higher ranked QB's. The list of QB's that i think Brown is better than is

1. The Golden Calf of Bristol

2. Pike

3. Lefevour

4. McCoy

If we go QB in the early rounds i hope it is Jarrett Brown.

QBs with the names/wins that these top 4 have don't slide too far... The Golden Calf of Bristol/McCoy will be similar to Aaron Rogers as far as sliding a little, but I could easily see all 4 gone... Keep in mind that teams with solid starters (Colts) don't have the greatest backups behind guys that aren't getting any younger...

Another point about QBs I want to make is that the potential lockout could also be a reason teams are looking to this year's class... Their aging starters would lose a year of value, and these young guys could gain an extra year of studying (even though it would have to be self-motivated)...

Agree on Brown... he is my 4th ranked QB... ahead of The Golden Calf of Bristol, and behind Clausen, Bradford, and McCoy...

There are still plenty of fifth-round picks out there to be dealt, so we may not be done yet with veteran trade movement before the draft.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen this morning mentioned Oakland's Darren McFadden as a veteran player that may surprisingly be available during the draft. Mort has close ties to the Arkansas program, so the news carries a lot of weight. And it's surprising.

While McFadden has underperformed, he's shown more promise than other recent Raiders first-round picks. Mort also mentioned Shawne Merriman as a sleeper to get dealt. (Although Merriman would have to sign his restricted free agent tender.)

We put together a list of available veterans for our big draft question preview over at NBCSports.com, and it looked a little something like this:

Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, Redskins linebacker Rocky McIntosh, Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell, Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora, Titans running back LenDale White, Bills running back Marshawn Lynch, Ravens running back Willis McGahee, Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers, Dolphins quarterback Tyler Thigpen and Raiders linebacker Kirk Morrison.

EDIT TO ADD: These aren't the way I think they will be picked... Just the way I think the Panthers would value them...
