CTP's Mock Panther offseason

I have a Final Mock Draft thread already, but this is strictly for the Panthers. So here is what I would do if I had control of the Panthers draft.

First off...I have Tate slipping at least to the Lions in the 2nd, who aren't going to take a WR that high, if at all. So if he falls there, we trade our 2011 2nd, and pick #48 to the Lions for pick #34.

2(#34)-Golden Tate-WR-Notre Dame

No explanation needed.

3(#)-Lamarr Houston-DT-Texas

BPA between DT and DE.

4(#)-A.J. Edds-SLB-Iowa

Probably the only true SAM backer in this draft. Will provide great competiton for Anderson and Connor.

6(#)-Armanti Edwards-ATH-Appalachian State

You better believe that if Edwards is their when we pick in the 6th, he'll be a panther.

6(#202)-Bryan McCann-CB-SMU

No, not that Bryan McCann. He will provide depth, and be on ST. Oh, and he runs a 4.28 40 yard dash.

6(#204)-Josh Hull-LB-Penn State

Penn State linebacker...that is all.

7(#)-Alonzo Durham-OT/OG-Nevada

Best fit for Davidson's zone-blocking scheme. He played OT and OG at Nevada, which uses the zone-blocking scheme.

7(#)-Eric Moncur-DE-Miami

Only reason this pick isn't a QB(like Max Hall), is because I am completely against drafting a QB. we have Cantwell to develop. anyway, Moncur is a steal with this pick. Fox and co. will try to see if they can strike gold in the 7th round by taking a Miami defensive player.

AFTER DRAFT...

-Sign Marc Bulger to a 1 year deal to BACKUP Moore, not for competition.

-Sign Raheem Brock to a 2 year deal to give Everette Brown competition, and provide some good depth.

-Move Dante Rosario to FB to give Fiammetta competition. If Fiammetta wins the #1 FB Job, move Rosario back to TE.

-Move Mike Goodson to WR. If he turns out better than Jarrett, let Jarrett walk in FA and make Goodson the #3 WR.

-Move Geoff Schwartz to LG...depth.

Depth Chart:

looks good but I really want a DE we know can at least have a chance of replicating Pepper's impact on the defense.

that's why we drafted Brown in the (2ND) last year. what other (2ND ROUND) DE could come in and be as good as Peppers right now...none.

Gotta at least try. I think the FO considers DE a much bigger priority than DT.

The only guy I see with a chance to replace Peppers immediately would be Umenyiora. I'd trade a 3rd for him.
