Week 5 Match up: Peppers vs. Gross

you misunderstand i think. i believe him having a career ending injury would help him. i think it would be for his own good. i'm not wishing him bad. sometimes it takes losing everything to improve as a person. no greed is good, but that level of greed is definitely not good. also, i've about had it with the name-calling. i'm reporting every post from here on out that includes someone calling anyone else here a derogatory name. it is a rule on this forum.

LOL... the funny part is you are totally serious by this.. and I get your point.. but I'm sure the dude wants to play some more football, whether he gains a life lesson over it or not...

--------------------

and Gross had some off games last year.. When people say, "Jake didn't lose all those games due to bad performance alone".. Gross let quite a few guys by him.. especially in that Philly game.. That had to be one of his worst games ever..

that could be chalked up to bad schemes set in place by our coaches and their usual "lack of changing a game plan".. but it's been a while.. can't remember.

But I remember reading that Lovie Smith likes to put his best pass rusher at LE to match up with the "weaker" of the two tackles, so we really may be talking about Otah vs. Peppers.

I think Peppers could give Otah some trouble simply based on speed.

again, you're totally misunderstanding what i said. i don't care what team he plays with. that has nothing to do with it. what i think is classless is when people would rather have athletes entertain them than those athletes getting help for their vices. if a guy had a drug addiction, would you rather him focus on getting ready for the game, or would you rather him get into a rehabilitation program? greed is no different to me. if you disagree, then how about disagree without all the negativity towards me. there is a phrase i like to use sometimes, "agree to disagree". that's a lot more pleasant than all the bickering.

I respect your opinion, but I disagree with your assertion that his desire to maximize his earning potential is some form of the 7 sins. Do you not want to maximize the money you make in your job and do so honestly and in compliance with the guidelines of your field?

This is true. Lovie has also said, in regards to Peppers, that he will move him around depending upon game situations. So, I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing both sides at different parts of the game. But, really, who knows? So much that coaches say is just lip service and I like to go off of historical tendencies. As such, ever since we traded for Ogunleye, he played the LE position, and Alex Brown mostly played RE, though Mark Anderson was in the rotation there, as well. That said, with both Brown and Ogunleye gone, this could allow Lovie to do what he says, as there won't be any obligation to one vet or another to play "their" position as was the case with both Brown and Ogunleye, IMO. So, to go Jay Bilas on y'all, he might move around, but I wouldn't be surprised if he plays just one side. (Saying this right now, of course)
