Steelers have begun contacting teams to trade Ben

I'm not so certain they'll go heavy for a QB. Coach Tomlin is said to be high on Dennis Dixon.

Not sure Asomugha makes as much sense for them as he might elsewhere. He's a great player, but the Steeler system needs top flight safeties more than it does corners. They've done okay with average corners before.

For those who care about this sort of thing, if the Steelers trade Roethlisberger, they'll have an all-black QB depth chart.

So Mike Tomlin is a racist? Look at the three QBs, Leftwich has starter experience, but never was spectacular, Batch only used for security not really that good at all, Dixon is unproven can't bash him yet until he folds.

Where in that post do you see any hint of a suggestion that Tomlin is racist?

(sheesh)

My first thoughts are that I don't think Pittsburg is really interested in trading him, that they're just trying to teach him a lesson. On the other hand, I'm wondering if there is a lot more about this guy that hasn't made the headlines? To me, he's always seemed like a stand up guy, and a good guy overall. But 2 of the same kind of allegations within a year, on top of that bone headed motorcycle ride after they won the SB, suggest that maybe he's a head case to some degree? I also wonder if perhaps his troubles are tied in with him not being able to handle alcohol, if his personality changes significantly after a few drinks?

Do we really want to be in the mix for this guy, if he IS so bad that the Steelers will walk away from him in his prime, and after proving he's a SB caliber QB?

Stick with Moore. he's earned it.

They just traded away a Super Bowl MVP receiver for a fifth round pick. I think if they got the right offer (and the Raiders have reportedly been inquiring) they'd do it.

As far as Ben being a stand-up guy and a good guy overall, eeeeeehhh no :nonod:

Even outside of these allegations, just about everyone who's had much dealing with him hates his guts (including his former OC and now Cardinals coach). He's generally considered to be a colossal a$$hole.

Guys have toed the company line right now (for the most part) but if he gets traded, I'd be willing to bet a river of hatred from his former teammates will follow.

that is what gets me. They are only interested in the top 10 teams. Yeah i want a qb that can't play for 4-6 weeks who has a god complex when it comes to women and will most likely be in trouble again. And you want what draft choice. First? How about a 4th and be happy we offered that.

But he has two rings!!!111!111
