Big Ben suspended for 4-6 games

his trade value just went WAY down. (assuming he was really on the block)

4-6 games suspension and they were bracing for 8 games, means his value went way up.......not to mention they have 2 days to get a deal done before the draft.....great timing.

Who was bracing for 8 games? I had always heard 6 at the maximum. I'm not disagreeing, just wondering where you heard 8...

Look at the Steeler's schedule. Its obvious he was going to be suspended 6 games. All of those first 6 games are Sunday 1pm. Then coincindently in their 7th game they are primetime against the Saints. So Big Ben comes back and the Steelers play the next 3 games in primetime. Then they end the year with 3 of 4 games in primetime.

It works pretty well when the same person controls the scheduling and the suspensions.

Teams that understand that winning is more important.

There are actually some people who have enough class and intelligence to realize there are more important things in the world than winning football games.

Happily, Jerry Richardson is one of those people. Trading for Roethlisberger would be equivalent to spitting in his face. He already hates that the Panthers will be forever associated with Rae Carruth. Throwing in Roethlisberger would just add insult to injury.

Big Ben has never scared me... He is a fatter, drunken Jake Delhomme with a little more mobility...

Well, I should say he "WAS" but now he's just as washed up as Jake, if not worse...

I've considered him a poor man's Favre. Not the world's greatest passer or thinker, but big and athletic. The Steelers system has covered his flaws well.
