This from Jeremy Fowler...

Have also seen it reported that Johnson has told the Lions he's not coming back.

(attributed to Schefter but I've not seen a direct link)

Chance to cement your legacy as a GM by building a team around a great young qb, or go to a team that doesn't appear to have much of a shot of getting a qb this year.  I know what my choice would be.

This seems very manufactured, IMO.

I wonder if I can bet on Johnson not going to LV in a sports book?

He's the assistant GM there though, he won't ever have any kind of legacy there.

GM jobs are much tougher to get in the NFL than HC's, as it's rare for a GM to be fired but not the HC, while a lot of GM's end up being given multiple chances at hiring HC's.

If you have a chance at a GM job, you go for it.

Nonsense. We change our GM every 2-3 years.

and we've changed our HC every 1-2 years during that time frame too lol.

Bottom line is GM jobs open up less than HC jobs and there are far more potential candidates for a GM job too.  If a team is looking at you for theirs, you don't pass it up, you go for the job.

It makes no sense for Johnson to have left the Redskins at the altar only to work for Mark Davis.

Mark Davis has my vote for owner with best/worst haircut in the NFL. He has him something like a 19 year old girlfriend (which I approve!) and the Julius Caesar Russel Crowe from Gladiator late 90's/early 2000's haircut. He inherited a million dollar franchise from dad and sports that haircut on a daily basis while walking around with his little dime piece. Johnson may be inclined to learn the arts of seduction and stylish haircuts a quarter of a century too late from the master himself.

We know Johnson is picky and has avoided scenarios with bad ownership(including ours). That's why the Las Vegas rumors see to lack any real credibility. Not to mention its just an okay roster but with absolutely zero QB nor any real obvious chance to get one aside from straight tanking in 2025.

The thing is that there don't appear to be any real insiders for Johnson saying this stuff. All this info is coming from Raiders sources, which says a LOT IMO.

Fowler is legit.

If you had asked me prior to yesterday, I'd have said I think he's going back. All indications now though or that he will take one of the available jobs.

If it's true that he doesn't want to face Dan Campbell twice a year, then the Jaguars seem like the most logical choice but who knows?
