Johnson is reportedly listening though. Some have called him their leading candidate.

Also, having an executive who played till 40 tells me they wouldn't necessarily ball at an older quarterback.

Yes but Johnson listened to almost everyone this round. Lol.

Again, I think the odds of Johnson to LV are probably in the order of 1-2% likelihood.

Rap Sheet might disagree.

Brady is said to be going "full court press" for Johnson, including having an extended conversation with his agent.

Lol. I could care less about Ian Makeupareport. His track record is pretty sketchy. Classic "be first to report" guy.

He can press all he wants, fully or otherwise. So is every other suitor.

Doesn't make them more likely to gain his services.

Don't know. We'll see.

To be clear, Rapoport isn't the only one talking about it.

I don't really see why that would matter for them. They have a QB they like and they would be drafting one of the best two non-QB's at 4. That's one of the least impactful moving from 1 to 4 scenarios I can imagine in recent memory.

That's still a massive loss of draft capital. In the 1st round alone, the value pick differential going off of the standard chart (which is a rough guideline to be fair) dropping from #1 to #4 is the equivalent of the #12 overall pick.

Rex Ryan Is lobbying for the Jets job.

Oy 😕

The Jets might be in a the same boat Tepper found himself in where their wish list kinda has to start where everyone else's ends. If someone has another option they're probably gonna take the other option.

Yeah but, again, that has very little actual impact unless they were banking on trying to trade out of #1. The impact to the talent they get will be almost nothing(in theory).

I don't think he got canned for that win. I think he got canned for not winning enough and also for better coaching options being available.

Kraft is leaning towards being a dysfunctional franchise, IMO. Will be interesting to see what happens moving forward with Vrabel.

Granted.

I'm hoping we got lucky. We pretty much knew that getting lucky was about the only way Tepper was going to get a good head coach.

    • I’m sure it’s been said but I just want to drop in to say Tom Brady sucks.  That is all.
    • Who has passed judgment? Y'all are a piece of work. You act like stating the obvious current trend on QB efficiency on two young QBs, including ours, is passing judgement. I know some of you have a difficult time comprehending, while others of you feign it. The story hasn't been written on either Stroud, or, more importantly, Bryce Young. As I am a Panthers fan, I am infinitely more interested in discussing Bryce, and not just in a negative sense whenever the topic of Stroud comes up like some...and I'm not going to apologize for it, and I'm not going to apologize for being tired of the understated shots at Young whenever the two come up, and I'm certainly not going to continue to discuss either of them within the context of the past, and definitely not going to negate the larger context of their current situations when comparing them presently and speculating about the future. Deal with it!
    • As a first round draft pick, I expected much more from XL. Brooks was a second round pick they lit on fire. Finding Coker undrafted is the lightning this team lucks its way in to from time to time (Luvu, Smitty in the third, Norwell in FA, Jake, etc). I like smith-Wade and really like Sanders.  so I’ll give this draft a D unless they find a way to parlay Brooks in to a decent draft pick from another team. I don’t think he plays a meaningful down here. No draft where first and second round picks are wiffs get better than a D.  Teams that whiff repeatedly on first and/or second round picks … (like this team does)… they suck. And they stay awful until they accept just how devoid they are of real talent. At that point a new, smart, GM comes in and in 2 drafts, picking in the top 5, choosing the OBVIOUS BPA PICK… they now have legit, young, blue chip talent raising the level of play of the entire team. I can see how selling an owner on a BPA strategy would be hard to do.
