Do you think we have a top 10 QB now?

I don't think he was bad vs TB - he just wasn't great. He was under constant pressure, we were without any semblance of a supporting run game, and our defense was just bleeding everywhere.

The great game count is 1 on the career

got to hold him to a reasonable standard vs his peers.  Which means all these other games can t just be excuses of how they really should be viewed as better.   His play vs that pressure was part of the equation of why it unfolded like it did

I'd argue the Arizona, KC, and first TB games were also very good to great.  I'd say yesterday was better than those of course, but I think all 3 of those others were very high level QB play

But we've seen other guys have a handful of great games and then regress, which is why I'm not sold on him as a top 10 or whatever yet.

If I were to play the odds and factor in the past around here….I’m deemed a Bryce hater today.  Lot of the same folks will call me a Bryce apologist next year when they swing the other way when he hits a stretch of not meeting their expectations.   These dances have been danced.

Dividing it into what I can say and what I can't say...

Can say:

The Bryce Young We saw for the better part of this year was damn good and deserves to be leading this team next season.

Can't say (yet)...

Bryce Young is a franchise quarterback who should be the quarterback of this team for the next decade.

It's not guaranteed that I'll be able to make that second statement in the future...

...but it is possible.

I really don't have any issue w/ a stance like that.  I think he was damn good vs what he was more so than just damn good but that's really just squabbling.

Yup. The excuses/rationale that folks made for Bryce in recent weeks apply for Penix today - drops, missed kicks, and defense. Game would have gone the other way with any of those elements absent.

Except Penix has top tier skill position talent, the kick that was missed was a 57 yarder, and the Atlanta defense is 10X better than Carolina's.

He's still a baller but those team similarities are not the same.

I'm not even giving thought to what he used to be. Doesn't honestly concern me.

What he is now and what he's going to be over the next few years are my focus.

I would.  I mean he was flat out bad in 2 of the last 4.   He wasn’t good directly after the benching.  So it’s still a very cherry picked window defining him and that’s because inconsistent play (which he should be).  Bryce also is hovering around 60% which was good in the prior era, not this one….and was 2nd in the NFL in poor throw % behind Anthony Richardson.

So we should celebrate his improvement and be glad we have a plan that makes sense for next year.   I’m just not agreeing with riding the wave as far as some.  We know how that works most of the time the NFL when the backing is actually there for some of the talk

He was bad in the Dallas game. The bucs game was eh, but we didn't lose that game or get blown out because of Bryce Young. No turnovers, 2 TD's, 203 yds. Nothing to write home about stat wise, but bad?

I'm assuming you are talking about the bucs game as the other "bad" game from BY. If so, you are out of your damn mind dude. You saw a box score and are assuming or are just spewing poo because morons will believe you.

Aren't guys here pushing to draft a Drake London comparison in the top 10 - we probably won't even get a chance to draft him with the #8 pick? Panthers receivers played well yesterday, but they have a long way to go before they're declared the future. The same holds true for Bryce, but is it fair to judge a QB if you aren't even sure of his receivers yet? Should be an exciting ride.

The Atlanta defense that could not muster up one hit, hurry or pressure?

Yes, that same defense.

They aren't a great defense but they are middle of the road with multiple stars in the secondary and a star pass rusher.

OL and Bryce played great; that why there was not one hit, hurry,  or pressure.

Glad I could answer that question for you.

I'd take Tet if he fell to 8 depending on what blue chip defenders are left.

I really wish we had seen more from XL so we wouldn't feel concerned about WR room but he completely disappeared.
