I can't believe our defense plays in the same league as these defenses

I'm surprised. The Lions' D has looked pretty trash lately. They've given up 30+ in three of the last four (the Bears being the lone exception).

But they did carry the team to a win earlier this year in a game where Goff threw 5 INTs. You don't see that stat line very often. QB threw 5 INTs in a win. LOL

He's decently mobile he just really struggles when you force him to think. He freezes up and then starts to panic. When he gets into "rabbit brain" mode even when he sees it he usually sails it high. It feels like the pick six is coming...

This is why he will never be a successful long term starter. It's all between his ears. Always has been.

And they lost Hutchinson pretty early in the year I believe. That kinda thing throws a bunch of game plans out the window

As of right now it's looking like O'Connell has hidden the real Darnold amidst a stacked roster like Shanahan managed to do with Purdy for a time. But it all comes to the forefront in the playoffs.

I haven't looked back at the Vikings level of competition over the season but the Lions definitely watched tape on bad Darnold habits and how to channel them

    • True--you have to compare him to the others and see where he fits in-- In addition, if you recall, Chuba had terrible hands during his first year or two.  He worked at it.  I was impressed with Legette's route running and I was unimpressed with his hands.   I have a feeling he will work on it.  In addition, a WR who has a bad QB, change to a QB who has different timing, and then back to the original, reborn QB--it is a bit problematic for some. Legette is a big WR.  when he steps up, with his speed, he is going to be a stud.
    • So the Titans fired one of the better coaches in Vrabel to side with & keep Carthon during an in-house civil war.  Give him a 4-year extension, and then turn around and fire Carthon the next season.    The Raiders indicate they were keeping Pierce, let him do a presser with offseason chatter, and then fire him.  Pretty humiliating.   The Jags are keeping their in-house HC deterrent in Baalke.       We're suddenly not looking like the crazy burning house.
