Way too early mock draft

Sitting here bored at work and watching these early mock drafts on YouTube so I tried my first one.  Did a couple trades that were offered.

Traded down one spot with the Jets (7&38) for (6&55) and still got Graham.

38 Edge  Old Miss Princely Umanmielen

73 Jalen Royals WR Utah St. Tall, fast and a good route runner.

Thoughts on first try.

Copy i really would like to move down if we're not taking TMac or Will Johnson. I think the best of this draft is between picks 10-50 or so. So I would love as many picks in that window as possible

I've been thinking about this too, and it would hurt not to get a top #5 hopefully generational talent; but I'd love if we could find a Future HOF and another Pro Bowl caliber player by trading back in the first.

I don't think these prospects will warrant a team desperate to trade up though, I hope I'm wrong.

This is such a weak class

Teams boards are going to be all over the place

After the first few names come off the board it’s a real crapshoot

But I still want Luther Burden

I’m always hesitant to buy into analysts saying it is a “weak class” compared to last year. For example, some said the 2017 QB draft class was “weak”, yet we all know who came out of that draft class (Mahomes). Positional depth and strengthens can vary from draft to draft, but there are usually players who prove people wrong and go on to have great careers. So while I respect that some people view this class as “weaker” than last year, I’m sure there are players that can be difference makers and potentially be perennial pro bowlers.

We need to come out of this draft with at least 1 good offensive weapon and as much defensive help as possible. I'd actually be ok with us not drafting a center this year with this being a weak center class and I feel that both Brady and Mayes both can be decent centers. We also have the option of resigning Corbett who should be pretty cheap considering his recent injury history but before he went down he was actually playing really well in his first year as a full-time center.

Getting a healthy Derrick Brown back along with Mason Graham, A'shawn Robinson, Jaden Crumedy, and a veteran NT and we could be very nicely set up at Dline next year.

Every class that doesn't have elite QB's at the top is always considered weak by the national media. This class has really good depth on the defense side of the ball and at RB. If both Mason Graham and Abdul Carter are gone by our pick I'd try to trade down and get extra picks to address our lack of talent on defense and our overall lack of depth.

The reason I chuckled when we won the Cardinals game and people were bent out of shape that it "ruined" our draft position.  I wouldn't be mad if we traded back, TBH.

    • That would be a great pick, he might be my favorite for us right now.
    • The coach- Canales was a rookie hc and at times looked like it. But he did manage to revamp the offense, helped Bryce not look like the biggest bust of the draft, exuded positivity,  and made the panthers watchable again. We have a viable head coach for the first time since rivera The gm- Morgan had some hits and some big misses. Hits- the ol, Coker, demani, dj at first. Misses- almost every d player signed, brooks, the jury is out on x. I get what he was trying to do with brooks/Hubbard but it blew up in his face. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes. But he did trade mingo for a 4th, managed to get a 2nd rounder this year from the Rams and I am a fan of constantly churning the bottom of the roster The draft- x can be a solid player but not until he catches the ball, brooks was a high risk pick that didn't work out, Wallace, demani and Chau Smith can be solid contributors and showed glimpses, Coker and jt should be mainstays. And flipping a 7th round lb that was about to be cut for Jackson was a great move.  The offense- had its ups and downs but Bryce has turned from one of the biggest busts in nfl history to a potential franchise qb, that change is worth its weight in gold, thielen was crafty and underrated as usual, Coker was a gem, jt was the solid but has some growing to do, and Hubbard has been awesome, the o line was much improved as well The defense- well...they set records, injuries, poor coaching (imo), bad playcalling and just plain sucking this defense needs everything to change, we need horn and Jackson back and we get brown back but we need bodies and an identity. If they can do with the def what they did with the o then we can challenge for the division bc we already have some pieces there.  Overall- this was a growth year full of questions and some of the major ones were answered(qb, coach). For the first time in a long time the season didn't end depressingly and I do have cautious optimism for next year. But they need to learn from the mistakes of 2024 and if they do I like where this team is headed. On to the draft and 2025
