Never turn on your school former players smh

Says the guy who jumps on and off bandwagons left and right. Love Javonte. Great college RB and looked like he was on his way in the NFL but he wasn't the same after a major injury. Happens to a lot of football players. It's a brutal, unforgiving game.

It might take him a year to fully recover. ACL injuries aren't career ending especially for a 24yr old kid.

He could easily bounce back next season.

He's two full seasons removed from the injury. He's lost nearly a yard per carry off his rookie season. He broke more tackles as a rookie than he has in his career since. A broken tackle roughly every 6.5 carries as a rookie. That is ELITE. To put that in perspective, Chuba broke tackles at a rate of about one per 18 carries this year. Same for Saquan. Derrick Henry is averaging one ever 7.3 carries. Yeah, as a rookie Javonte was breaking tackles at a Derrick Henry rate. He's broken a tackle every 33 carries this year.

I hate to say it, but he's a shadow of his former self. Nothing to be ashamed of. You can't control the injury factor other than trying to take the best care of your body that you can.

watched Blackshear in college, cant believe he stuck. congrats to him, but he's a ST guy at best.

Tuten is a low profile guy. unfortunately i dont think i would draft him as i fear the meds. VT RBs are run down in college the last 3 decades. hes a shorter lighter guy. idk if he can 100% stick at the NFL level, but he has been nothing short of impressive, when healthy, at VT and there shitty pass game. he carried that offense for stretches the last 2 years.

ollie gordon is an interesting guy that gets very little draft press this year. already a good reciever out of the backfield and great record on the ground the last 2 years. think he slides as he didnt backup the 2023 numbers on a bad team and hes a guy that needs a strong OL to realy highlight what he can do to a secondary. hes a load that looks for contact, but needs that runway to get going. start stop and hard cuts are not his thing. good/great in pass pro, and competent hands. backend of 5, sure take the flier, if you get him a runway with the line we have, he could produce on all phases.

and my best for last is nick singleton. he was a monster as a true freshman at PSU. good not great overall production the last 2 years, but that RB room is stacked and both guys split carries. really developed as a blocker and pass catcher this year. take gordon and add the start stop and agility, but with lot less carries overall. personally he's up in the top 5 for me this class. if he drops to the 5th, sprint the card up. i think if we didnt heavily invest in the position, rnd 4 would be fine if he fell there too. i could see him taken early based on a big time combine, freshman year production, and great rate production every year. hes a little more boom, bust and still figuring stuff out, but PSU has such a crazy amount of talent in the RB room, he hasnt had the game reps of others to fully figure it out.

There is a dude who works at Lowe's and Home Depot you can sign off the street for cheap. Please stop drafting RBs. It's literally the easiest position to play. See hole and run. A RB is only as great as his Oline.

Don't draft another RB please don't do it!

So Blackshear did what exactly last week....?

We can find a reception back undrafted. Tons of RBs available FA and Undrafted. I don't get why we have to draft one.

Because they're generally better talents to put it simply. Most UDFAs are JAG. We don't want to limit ourselves to JAG.

And, btw, it's not a successful draft strategy to go in saying, "I'm going to draft all defense." Real world drafting doesn't go like that. You must look at individual players and value, irrespective of whether their on offense or defense, that's why you use FA to set up the draft, but you still can't throw value out the window.

Fine let's draft another backup RB.

Hope the defense can survive while we adding depth on offense.

We talking 5th round

we can spend all the higher picks where the good defensive prospects are and more importantly we can go into FA and spend money on defensive players (and not on FA RBs)

Offer Miles Sandes a reworked 1-year deal for the vet minimum and take a power back in the 4th or 5th round. I like both of the Penn State guys and Ollie Gordon II. I like Phil Mafah too I'm just curious as to what he's going to run at the combine. The dream is to get Cam Skattebo but with his performances in his last 2 games he's probably played himself into a higher pick than I'd feel comfortable spending on a backup RB.

I like Brashard  Smith out of SMU. Started his collegiate career as a receiver and broke onto the scene this year as a running back for SMU. There’s good write ups on him on the Google Machine. Projected anywhere from 4-6 round in the draft. Just feel like we need that receiver out the back field for BY and maybe implement some jet sweeps for a change of pace. Don’t get me wrong, I love a power back, but this team is lacking players with speed and players that have an extra gear to pull away from defenders.

Hubbard, Sanders and a Mafah type would all be too similar IMO.  All ideally early down rushers.  Yes, I know they all can catch.  But that's not any of their games.
