Time to draft a running back?

We been investing in the RB position for years. Get a undrafted RB. Chuba is the real deal he doesn't need some elite RB to back him up. Just my opinion on the situation.

What if our current backup RB rushes for 100 yards Sunday? I mean we writing him off after 1 bad game.

let me try one other way, name a RB that represents the type player you would rather add in FA then.

Why are we placing a 2-3 mil/year FA signing on the same value level as a UDFA but adverse to using a 6th-7th on one?  I don't get this logic or reasoning from either a financial or value standpoint.  It's not like Shirden, Spencer Brown, or [insert next guy] will be some insert/magic button.  We have selected UDFA RBs nearly every offseason for our entire history, and they rarely work out.  Most starting RBs are draft picks, and for a reason.

Just because R1-2 doesn't make sense value wise, unless it's a Gibbs-type talent, doesn't mean the talent in the mid to late rounds is rendered obsolete.  Guys get drafted for a reason.  If the value add and talent is there, by all means add it.

He thinks Chuba is a 30+ carry type back when in reality he is a 15-20 carry back.  Canales wants to run the ball in the 30 range but he couldn't because he only has Chuba, which really hindered the offense.  Blackshear isn't  good enough and you can't just hire Joe schmoo to run in the NFL.

Javonte Williams from Denver.

Whoever goes undrafted look at the film and sign the best available.

He was a 2nd round pick.  But a team can probably have him in FA for a couple million in guaranteed next year.

the 5th round RB Denver added last year is only 300k in guaranteed.  That’s why you draft a RB.  You then go spend the actual money elsewhere.  You don’t need to add FA RBs.  Cost is too high.   Value too good in the 5th-ish round for RBs.  LITERAL peanuts in cost for good players

see Hubbard.  He was a peanut RB.  No cost for years.  And a good player.  Math is just good in that mid to late area and it’s not close to the undrafted guys.  5th rounders are studs at power 5 programs (that’s not comparable to undrafted who weren’t studs at that level of play)

That's a nice point and all but CamWhoaaCam played RB and told me they're stupid.

Fine let's draft another backup RB.

Hope the defense can survive while we adding depth on offense.

I watch a lot of Broncos games and Javonte Williams is horrible. Broncos fans agree. He is so slow, not explosive. Doesn’t break tackles like he did in college

That ACL injury definitely had a significant impact on his burst.  He's definitely not the same guy he was as a rookie. He looked like he did in college as a rookie.

I like Damien Martinez. He’s big and an absolute load to bring down. Also shifty and he was very well rounded. Easily Miami’s best blocker in its backfield. And showed nice hands as well.

I’ve seen people suggest he could go in R4 later and having watched about every game of his… I think he could be a steal.
