Time to draft a running back?

If the draft is this loaded, there will be an UDFA available--we have so many needs--a rental could be an UDFA or a 1-year contract signing.  But I see a lot of talent and value at RB this year.  Lotta ways to approach the problem--not one answer, and if anyone comes across as there is, he is full of shite.

I’d rather draft a RB in the 4th round in a super deep RB draft than wait for an UDFA. A 4th round RB in this deep of a class is more comparable to a low 3rd round RB in most drafts since not all teams will be looking for a RB. Great value. The chances of Chuba staying healthy all year as our primary weapon is unrealistic. So many great RB’s that will fall to the 4th that wont feel like a huge drop off when he’s in the game compared to what we witnessed this past week. We should use our Mingo pick on one of them.

Imagine watching this team all season and thinking backup RB is an important need for the draft smh

I get other people have different views on what the team needs, but seriously backup RB guys?

Bryce Young is our QB.  We need a 1b for Hubbard.  Even freaking Derrick Henry has a complimentary RB that plays in every single game.  This isn't a backup QB type thing that never plays pending something bad doesn't happen.

So what’s your plan if Chuba goes down? No one is saying  to use an early round pick on a RB, but to use a 4th or 5th round pick on a backup RB when our offense is built around the run game in one of the deepest RB drafts of all time is not a crazy idea.. Did you watch how bad our RB’s are behind Chuba last week?

My plan is to find one undrafted or sign one in FA. I rather we go all defense. If we are going offense get something we actually can use a WR.

adding to this.

coincidently, Hubbard and Henry had the exact same amount of receiving yards.  Bryce Young 10000% has a need for a legit rec RB in the backfield since he arrived.   He needs that RB to play w/ Hubbard.   That's not Hubbard's game and he didn't produce as a receiver this year.

We can find a reception back undrafted. Tons of RBs available FA and Undrafted. I don't get why we have to draft one.

definitely a way of approaching it--If you think "I can get a second round value with a fourth round pick"  it is hard to beat that argument--and that is the case.

Hubbard gets injured, then what? You can’t go into an NFL season with only one reliable RB
