and our PG QB that loves to play small could 100% use a recieving RB to compliment Hubbard and be there for when he eventually gets hurt 

You might can sell me on a RB with our 6/7th Rd pick. Even that would sting a little because I feel we need to make more gambles on defensive players. If we hit on a RB that's good, but he's still a backup. If we can hit on a defensive player with those 6/7th Rd picks that changes our team. 

 

RB is one of the lowest valued positions in football for me. I played the position growing up. Nothing against the position, but if you already have a elite RB that is damn good. I prefer not to invest in another backup RB in the draft. Try something new.

There is a dude who works at Lowe's and Home Depot you can sign off the street for cheap. Please stop drafting RBs. It's literally the easiest position to play. See hole and run. A RB is only as great as his Oline.

I have been watching football for more than 50 years (yeah I'm getting old). I can tell you, without a doubt, that not all RBs are equal (and you see that every Sunday from August through February). Like Joe Bear says, that doesn't mean that I'm drafting one (or not drafting one). Especially on day three, when you have "projects" galore, you might want to invest in one, because, as you intimated Cam Whoaa Cam, the position probably has the least learning curve, and you may be able to "luck" up on a back like Checo or Aaron Jones. In general, I don't think it's wise to dismiss a player or position out of hand.

the odds of hitting on a productive RB in rounds 4-5 is higher than a DE.  Because the position is devalued.  So the RBs are just flat out better at their position vs others. 

and again, Philly, Ravens, SF, Bills, etc. all just did exactly that in the last draft.  Banking on 1 RB staying healthy is poor roster management.  

and again, we aren't a QB production heavy team nor do we project as such.  Which means we need RBS, plural going forward.  And that means multiple ones that can every week.   You can't just have Hubbard on the field literally all game.  Even Barkley and the top of the top isn't doing that.

I would always be keeping an eye out for mid to late round RBs. It's a draft and replace position outside of a small handful of truly elite backs.

Or at very least you need to be always prepping backups because injuries happen, and very few rushing offenses these days are just one back. Even on PHI and BAL, where the QB is really the #2 rushing threat, there is still a RB averaging ~4-5 ypc as a change of pace option.

I'd rather bring in a one-year vet rental, see how JB's knee heals over the course of the year, and then make a decision on whether or not to draft one in 2026.

Then again, if the Panthers are sitting there with a lot of their needs met and there's a high quality talent that inexplicably fell...

Would you rather have a productive running back or DJ Johnson?  That’s the quality of prospect we are taking about here with the opportunity cost.

running backs are so undervalued that you should drafting one at least every other year or so. it cost almost nothing to dreft a guy on day 3

This right here, I mean i wouldn't be mad at a RB in the 5th or later but with a great run blocking line (which we have) it's plug and play.
