Evero doesn’t believe in the monster NT, his system wants a smaller guy. I don’t get it, but it is what it is

He's about to have the worst defense in NFL history and our run defense was ass even when Brown was healthy. Even if he were to be smaller, he has to be a monster in the middle. Anything less and hes getting blown off the LoS. He's been influential in getting his type of players and this is the result.

Evero is not the problem. Anybody with a clear eye can see he has nothing to work with. Name me a decent player besides Horn and Clowney?

You need talent to be successful as a coach. This is for every sport.

I agree he isn't "the problem" but I do think he isn’t exactly making the problems better.

I would put the blame about 80% on the front office and 20% on Evero.

If people think we have the worst talent in nfl history on defense then MAYBE I can see giving evero SOME slack. We are close to being statistically the worst defense in nfl history and no matter how you look at it coaching is a part of that.

The roster we fielded Sunday was pretty close. Evero has some stuff the drives me crazy he needs to clean up, but I can’t fault him for this past weekend. We were way past the tipping point of having so little talent no amount of scheme and coaching could fix it

I believe that goes back to his time with Den as well.

No, they were actually a top 10 run defense with him.

With Vance Joseph they have finished 30th and 8th.

Edit: Read the wrong part of the table initially

It's the worst defensive roster in the history of this franchise that spans 30 years. I would say that is quite the accomplishment by the FO.

My thing is people were viewing him as the only bright spot from the 23-24 season. Coming into the season he was viewed as a legit DC with upside to possibly get a HC job.

Now we flipped on him after 1 season in which he literally had nothing to work with. All this change is cool, but I would prefer we try to create some stability with the coaching staff. Get some talent on defense and let's see what Evero can do in year 3. If he doesn't improve with better talent then we can move on. I would hate to lose him and he go balls out with a better defensive roster with another team.

I generally don't think he is likely to be a "great" DC, but he could be in the above average to below average band.

I don't care if we jettison him that much but have a plan to improve if that is what you want to do. A better candidate(for sure) and a better roster. If both of those aren't on the table, what is the point?

Says he still believes in Evero and his 3-4 scheme. Sounds like he is backing his coordinator. Do you think it was a matter of personal for the failures? Are you all willing to give him another shot with upgraded players? Who would actually make the choice if he says or goes?

It’s coach speak.  Evero is finishing out the season.  Which is the right move considering they forced him to stay in the spot.

Evero is walking out that door after Sunday
