Panthers offensive MVP

  • Winner: RB Chuba Hubbard (44 votes)
  • Runner-up: QB Bryce young (15 votes)
  • Staff picks: Hubbard (Fowler), Hubbard (Kaye), Hubbard (Zietlow)

Panthers defensive MVP

  • Winner: CB Jaycee Horn (27 votes)
  • Runner-up: LB Josey Jewell (17 votes)
  • Staff choices: Jewell (Fowler), Horn (Kaye), Horn (Zietlow)

Panthers special teams MVP

  • Winner: TE Feleipe Franks (31 votes)
  • Runner-up: DB Lonnie Johnson (11 votes)
  • Staff picks: Pineiro (Fowler), Rhattigan (Kaye), Franks (Zietlow)

How does Jansen not win that special teams MVP?  Anyone who watched our OL play would have voted for them before Bryce--I would vote for the Guards and Moton before Bryce.

No worries--fluff.

    • Agree the Panthers receivers are generally better at being possession receivers, sans the XL drops. But Patriots receivers are absolutely better at YAC. Douglas, Boutte, Hunter and Bourne have all been better at making defenders miss in the open field than anyone on this team. Our receivers absolutely suck at that. So I guess it's just preference. And it really doesn't matter what you're trying to do, or how hard you're trying to make a guy miss. Stop falling down or running out of bounds after the catch and make a friggin play! Thielen is great as a possession guy. I admit that. He's arguably one of the best in that role right now. And agree Coker and Sanders give more YAC effort, but they don't get enough opportunities for it to really matter on Sundays. Panthers need more explosive plays period. Unfortunately Canales and Young can't trust anyone but a slow possession receiver to provide them. That's not good.

    • I don't think we really need to do all that much on offense other than backup QB and backup RB and maybe some depth WR. All of which can be found for relatively cheap. We will come nowhere near competing next year and we do have some potentially good younger pieces on offense, but pretty much none on D other than Horn (great year but still questionable durability) and Brown (assuming his great year wasn't a one-off and he can get back to that level of play post-injury).   Getting young pieces on D should be this organization's largest priority for the roster. Well, after QB. But seems like we are sticking with Bryce which is a mistake, and this year's QB crop isn't really that good. Ward could be interesting if we are in a position to draft him but I view him more as mid-late 1st and would prefer D in the top 5-10 this draft. QB can wait a year.
