Panthers offensive MVP

  • Winner: RB Chuba Hubbard (44 votes)
  • Runner-up: QB Bryce young (15 votes)
  • Staff picks: Hubbard (Fowler), Hubbard (Kaye), Hubbard (Zietlow)

Panthers defensive MVP

  • Winner: CB Jaycee Horn (27 votes)
  • Runner-up: LB Josey Jewell (17 votes)
  • Staff choices: Jewell (Fowler), Horn (Kaye), Horn (Zietlow)

Panthers special teams MVP

  • Winner: TE Feleipe Franks (31 votes)
  • Runner-up: DB Lonnie Johnson (11 votes)
  • Staff picks: Pineiro (Fowler), Rhattigan (Kaye), Franks (Zietlow)

How does Jansen not win that special teams MVP?  Anyone who watched our OL play would have voted for them before Bryce--I would vote for the Guards and Moton before Bryce.

No worries--fluff.

    • Williams sucks. Why do you think they're trying to find his replacement? RBs are not equal, dude. UDFAs are undrafted for a reason.  I have tried to explain it several times: The RB position is devalued in a contractural sense when it comes time to renew---basically from a business perspective, but from an on-the-field perspective they are as important as ever. You want the best talent that you can get, and exceptional ones get paid. Others who are perceived near the back side of their career don't, unless maybe they're perceived as a missing piece to a chip, and even then it's not to long term contracts. UDFAs and JAGs are let go religiously because they're just guys, someone to hold space and keep it moving. Teams don't generally let good backs go, unless they think they can get a better one, can't or don't want to pay what the market demands, or the back is injured.
    • Like many of you I have followed the Panthers for a long time. I was a PSL owner for nearly a decade and can count on one hand how many Panthers games I have missed watching. When you follow a team this closely, they become tethered in your lives and your worst/best memories.    What are some of your most memorable Panthers/Falcons moments? I will share some of mine.  2003- Carolina @ Atlanta I was in high school. Michael Vick was coming back from injury and it was Sunday night football in Atlanta. My grandfather had been very ill and was confined to his bed at this point. He had never been a Panthers fan or football fan in general. I spent Sunday/Sunday nights with him while he was sick to give my other family members a break from his caretaking. That season, he had went from not caring what was on TV to hooping and hollering about the Panthers. That night though sticks out to me. I had actually fallen asleep before him, and he woke me up to tell me it was going into OT. I still remember the oxygen mask around his face as he stared directly at the TV. The Panthers lost the game, but I felt like he and I had actually bonded around something. He died the night after we beat the Rams in the Playoffs that season and he never got to see them in the SuperBowl, but that season will always be special to me beyond the fact that we made it to the Super Bowl that year.    2014- Carolina @ Atlanta The other was the 2014 season in Atlanta. We won the game to go to the post season that year. That night was one of the worst of my life. I sat in the ER after my father had a heart attack. I remember just seeing it up on the screen in the corner of the room and while I sat with Dad in silence, I watched the game to keep my mind busy. My Dad passed about 3am but that game sticks out in my mind as one that was special for more than one reason. I felt like my Dad and I shared that game in that small hospital room.
    • I feel like running backs are the easiest position to evaluate in terms of how a player will translate into the NFL. You at least have a better chance drafting a running back in those late rounds.
