I admire you willingness to completely ignore the point of the OP here, and use a stat from the whole season that is also a bit old. Well done!

Haven't you heard? The only thing that matters is last year and the first two games of this year. Young is solely responsible for every loss the team had. Any scrub qb can come in here and instantly make this team a playoff team. Keep up man!

He's shown some definitive flashes of big time plays. But there's a lot of meh in between at times. Then there are things going on beyond his control. All in all we've reached the point where now that he does not look horrific we can only speculate what his ceiling ultimately may be. Franchise QB is a possibility. But elite QB one day? No one can say. But that level of play is where his physical limitations compared to his peers become more pronounced and where it seems like everything has to go right. The elite QB's make things work even when things are not going according to script or when the chips are down. Can he be that? If you don't think he can by mid-season next year then you take another swing on a QB. I don't think it's as complicated as some are making it out to be.

Don't check again for an update or you find he  is like 35 or something.  Behind Gardner and Jones.....as well as Spencer Rattler, O'Connell, Maye, etc.

I'm guessing that's for the entire season? I remember he was in the 33-35 territory if you included the first two games, 28th if you looked at only post benching.

That was last week though, but I doubt this last game changed much as it hit pretty much his exact post benching YPG average. Maybe his position still changed though, just from other players moving up, but IDK.

So... similiar to Josh Allens second year... what if BY also take off in his third year...

Or maybe he only need time as the new love boy of some in here, Sam Darnold.

Guess we now have to extend BY so he can be a top QB in 5 years from now.

Guess it takes 7 years just as Rhule predicted.

😘

Exactly. We are so used to such atrocious play, mediocre play looks great.

gotcha.  yeah, the cherry picked 206 has him 27th and still sandwiched behind Jones and in front of Gardner.

but it's a pretty cherry picked view that overly skews to favor Bryce given all those other guys aren't getting their bad games wiped nor are they getting their non-start stats wiped like Bryce is.  So Bryce is slotting ahead of Drake Maye for example.  But if you wipe the 1 game Maye didn't start and played a couple snaps garbage time in.....well, Maye is ahead of cherry picked Bryce.  Cherry picked Bryce is ahead of Drew Lock because he stepped on field in random games....but Lock averages 233 in his starts.

I think if you were to be able to cherry pick out average yards per game as a starter.....even cherry picked Bryce is probably 35-40ish.

Ask yourself this. If you put Young on those other teams would he produce better or not? I think we all know the answer to that if you're being honest.

This is spot on. The one thing that has me enjoying watching the games are the splash plays, and some clutch plays. We’ll learn what we need next year as that will be his second year in the system etc. A year of no excuses.

well, what are a handful of teams where offensively you think the QB is in a comparable overall spot or worse?  We are just talking offensive production in the end.  Bryce isn't in the worst spot offensively in the NFL.   This isn't last year.   I can flip that too......a lot of QBs inserted into Carolina would be out performing Bryce if we are honest.  He has a great OL and run game.  Which is the biggest gift you can give a QB.

That's my point. Swap situations and then judge. It's easy to compare stats at face value. But you swap out the qb's and put them on the other team and tell me what happens. It's not so simple.

what's our situation? Great OL.  Solid rush game.  Meh WRs.  That's not actually a nightmare scenario in the NFL and it often seems to be painted as such.  We should be producing more O from the QB spot IMO.  You got to look at the combo of Bryce and Dave IMO.  I still think it's a conflicting pairing.
