Bryce stats since being benched

Here’s my  ‘WAT?!’ Post.

Start of the season,  especially after game 2, BY’s only friend was Dalton. At that point BY was nobody’s guy and the team clearly looked ready to move on. Andy had struggles but looked like a perfect bridge QB. Bryce looked comfy on the bench and all was good… until Vegas paid a dude to put a hit on Andy and here we are now.

BY was supposed to be unwatchable, but he wasn’t, to everyone’s chagrin. How do you sit him when he was actually LOOKING ‘good.’

The $1,000,000,000 question… is it fools gold again? Would this offense be able to post >100 yards in a game without Chuba and Thielen on the field?

I see nothing but 3 and outs, personally. Thielen 3rd down conversion fingertip circus catches. Chuba doing his best Stephen Davis impersonation. When he touches the ball, it’s about to be 2nd and 3. A practice squad QB could make that offense run. To quote my pops, ‘even turkey can fly in a stiff breeze.’

So this last game was an obvious tank. No Hubbard and play calling that never had a chance. They are going to take another swing at QB and have a ‘competition’ in TC and preseason. Bryce has upped his trade bait status greatly, so that’s good, but I don’t think he is their guy going forward. Has Nicole hugged anyone recently?

Meh wr?  Thielen is our #1 wr and who is our #1 te?  That's a good bit below meh

it's all relative, not us in a vacuum.    Look at New England.  You want to trade AT for Demario Douglas.  They ain't living better over there.

We had so many people in this fanbase advocating for benching Cam at times and start Derek Anderson. They were fools, but it was quite often. A lot of the fanbase were happy when Cam was released and we could finally get a 'real' quarterback.

I do remember that but it wasn't a 50/50 split or 60/40 split. It was like 80/20 or 90/10.

I'd say third or later, maybe, but with one of those fourths I'd skip to the podium.

If he is there in the 3rd you sprint the card in.  Granted he is a long way off but his athleticism and potential are off the charts.  Sit him for 1/2 years and see what you can get out of him.  That said aint no way he slips to the 3rd too much potential

Anyone who can't see that Bryce has played pretty damn well since returning to the lineup just doesn't want to. Has he reached his potential as a former #1 overall pick? No, obviously.

But he has gradually gotten better and has flashed big time QB potential at times, which given how awful he was to start the season is a borderline miracle in itself.

There is ZERO reason he shouldn't be the clear starter going into 2025. Wasting draft picks on mid-round QBs when you have a guy who you gave up a ton for that is FINALLY starting to figure it out is just stupid.

We need a veteran backup and maybe a young developmental QB behind Bryce. Which is basically what we have now with Dalton + Plummer. I wouldn't have a problem re-signing Dalton as the backup, but we should be able to do better than Jack Plummer as the #3.

Jalen Milroe in the 3rd? Not with an early 3rd rounder, no. With a late 3rd or with our 4th? Yes, that makes sense at that price. But we have too many needs to go bargain QB hunting if there are players at other positions that can help us with those picks.

So you can name one team that might be worse?

It’s not team.  It’s offense around the QB.  Which isn’t just WRs in a vacuum. And New England is worse.  And there are several in the ballpark.

again, Bryce has the most expensive OL in the NFL.  They are good.  He has a legit RB to hand it off to.   That’s ideal foundation you want every QB to have.

New England is worse overall.  Raiders presently.  Cardinals comparable.

then you have teams that hit windows where injuries make windows worse around the QB.  When Mike Evans went out for month Tampa wasn’t better around the QB.  Present day Saints aren’t better around the QB.

    • Saw the panthers huddle show thing with TD a lil while ago.... Thomas Davis bringin up cj stroud and mentioning enjoyin him regressing is a kinda cheap shot move to me. Why even say that? Does he not know stroud numbers are still better than bryce for the year and he in the playoffs? TD better than that. That something a goofy fan would say
