a portion of that puzzle is on the QB and playcaller.  Not just the WR.  I think that part is ignored.  Bryce just isn't that type QB and he Dave just don't go that route.  Dave tries to do what Bryce can do.   XL can threaten it with the play calls and throws.  It probably would be as consistent as the Ginn days if we did it a lot.  As in not very consistent.  I mean, that's what we drafted in XL.  But that's not Bryce.  So it's conflicting.  When I lobbied for XL....I always was upfront I didn't think he worked with Bryce.

Our entire draft history under Tepper is littered with square pegs or even no pegs at all.

It's another in a long line of facepalm worthy draft decisions.

That's why I get so amused by the tankers wanting to move up the order. I mean....we fuged up a #1 overall and a #32 overall in the last two years alone. What more proof do we need that where these picks are isn't the issue?

He has a ton of talent but he has the skills of a freshman college WR. His utter lack of development and production at SC was a big red flag, IMO.

I hope I get to eat these opinions in a big way(I had to with my take on Cam) but this story just seems so very familiar to a Panthers fan.

His story at South Carolina has been talked about a lot. Lost his mother in 2015 to cancer and then his father to a heart attack in 2018 just two months before HS graduation. We can agree that losing both parents going into your freshman year at college is going to cause some issues.

2019 - Freshman year [QB: Hilinski, Joyner, Bentley]
2020 - COVID [QB: Hill, Doty]
2021 - Scooter accident and other injuries [QB: Noland, Brown, Doty]
2022 - Was behind Antwane Wells Jr (who transferred to Ole Miss this season and will be in the upcoming draft) and Jalen Brooks (drafted by Dallas last year). Was also competing with TE Jaheim Bell (transferred to FSU, drafted by Patriots last year) for touches. [QB: Rattler]
2023 - Breakout year as WR1 [QB: Rattler]

Also didn't have competent QB play until his last two seasons.

Right but Calvin Johnson had a career sub-50% passer in a literal triple option offense but still averaged almost 1k yds and 10 TD's a season over three years.

That's largely why I was down on him as a one year wonder as a 5th year player. There aren't many of those NFL success stories.

Look, we have probably beat this horse to death. I suspect he is just going to be another bust off our roster in 3-4 seasons. If he isn't, awesome. We fill a need and we have a very marketable and likeable guy.

Yea but that's fuging Megatron. He was Georgia Tech's ONLY WR while he was busy inventing global sanitation systems. 💀

They built that man in a lab.

Remember during that era they almost always had some freak WR that ended up in the NFL. That fuging blew my mind that a triple option team could get those type of players.

to an extent, he also suffers a bit of what Bryce suffers from.  Bryce is 1000% judged off the fact he was #1 overall, we traded away draft picks, gave up DJ Moore and others look better than him.  Some drastically.

we made XL a 1st round pick.  He realistically was a 2nd.  And folks see other WRs that are actually in great situations like Ladd.

Mingo.  TMJ.  Samuel.  All recent 2nd round picks.  Rookie XL has more production than all 3 of them combined.  So, he probably is judged harsher than he should be

a true nightmare.  Defending the triple option is already a gigantic pain the rear.   Then randomly having Megatron just standing there able to go deep at anytime is just insane while you fixate on that run scheme.

Paul Johnson was a mad scientist that I both loved and hated having to go against as a Clemson fan.

The index card in the pocket was so iconic.

    • It literally says it pulled away from the pack so yeah it was a stand out compared to the usual level. Same as in SC. Plenty of corporate welfare in America but Tepper has shown his has those issue when he is involved. I have no idea how it looks from the outside but businesses like Walmart and Amazon all do it a little different. The NFL does stadiums and taxes but even their deals are unique from each other. Tepper is now known for bad public deals at this point with the last one not as bad as SC but it certainly wasn't good.

By consuming Thera Bloom CBD Gummies, the CBD is absorbed through the digestive system and enters the bloodstream.
