He has probably the best set up of any QB in the league, but good for him, he seems like a really good guys.

This. Hated the trade for him and wanted no part of him here to be honest but always liked the person. Seems like a legitimately good guy and I'm happy to see him having success. It's been a long road for him. Says a lot about him for hanging in there.

It's a very good combination of factors.  O'Connell is proving to be one of the best coaches in the league, JJ and Addison the best duo, and Darnold is starting to avoid the dummy throws.  It's coming together there.

Having Jefferson, Addison, hockenson, Jones, and a much better oline will help just about any QB over Moore, a worse Hubbard, and a bunch of turds at oline and the rest of the receiver positions...

They were their worst versions of themselves because of us.  We keep creating new problems and laying the blame at the wrong places.   We had coaching issues.  Personal issues.  We blamed the QB.  Now we got a QB issue.  We blamed Frank.  Eventually we likely blame Canales.

We had a completely green Joe Brady under Matt Rhule for Darnold who managed to look good for a minute, starting off 3-0.  If we could've set that up with a better coaching situation, I think he'd still be our QB.

For Baker, we gave him a hot seated Matt Rhule testing out McAdoo as his first refuge outside of Cleveland.  Complete disaster of an environment.  

All stems back to the Matt Rhule hiring...

cousins saw a huge production step change when Jefferson came, even their bum backups last year put up numbers

      That's all true. I see the same thing too. Just 98% of each current NFL game the QB doesn't toss 45 yard bombs and doesn't run for long(unless newton/Allen). The QB is a total mid-game and if the D is cheating into the box, toss one of those speedy WRs a go route to bring back honest. I mean besides hail Marys and busted plays, no QB throws deep. Unless you can take repeated MLB hits, they don't run for long either.  It maybe hurts effect. I thought he was also drafted far too early. Then all it took was surrounding him with the best OL, 2 stud WRs, and all-NFL RB. He looked good!!.. I think that's the same thing the Panthers need to do for BY.....
