Patriots might get offered the brinks truck from the Raiders. Very jealous of the position they are in

I don't think they're going to be #1 anyways, I think they beat the Bills who have nothing to play for next week.

But I doubt any team is giving up a huge haul for either of these QB's, it basically is 2023 all over again and whoever is #1 would need a sucker out there like we were who makes a bad trade, not sure it's going to happen again without us in the running to be said sucker.

My last draft looked a lot like that. Free agency sets the table for the draft, though

I think Panthers are currently at #6, and there are 3 QB  needy teams ahead of us. Browns, Giants, Titans. If 2 teams pick QBs, that'll still leave a blue chip player at #6. Mason, T-Mac, Hunter, Carter is a very real possibility for us.

Everyone of those players would make us instantly better.

I'm long on the record as saying I don't think Shedeur is that guy, but he's still going Top 10.

Because the Giants are taking a QB if either of those two are available, and then if either are available for the Raiders, I can't see them passing on either of them as well.

There are still other teams like the Titans or even the Jets to take one if they're sitting there too.

If Deion wasn't his dad though, then I could see it being like the Pickett year, but the Deion shine with be too bright for many to see through in the end.

I may get flamed for this...and I'm sure Deion doesn't want his kid going to the Jets...but if A-Rod stayed for 1 more year, playing behind a HOF QB for a year and watching the game from the sideline for his rookie season wouldn't be the worst scenario for the SS.

No way Deion allows that. But it would be a good decision overall imo.

Deion is going to realize he doesn’t have as much say as he thinks. If anything, his influence will be on teams passing to avoid the headache.

I was thinking the same thing. I understand his reasoning, but if he comes out and says that SS won't play for so-and-so franchise I wouldn't be surprised to see SS drop in the draft.

I'm looking for the Raiders to make a deal (either overtly or covertly) to draft S. Sanders. He's already got a relationship with Tom Brady, who is a minority owner with the team. The Raiders DESPARATELY need a franchise QB. I think the Sanders family and the NFL would be glad to see him end up in Las Vegas.

I think the two New York teams would be the top 2 destinations for Shedeur in Deion's mind, especially of the teams who are needing new QB's right now.

I think the NYC market would be so appealing for the Sanders family, if you can bring a SB to either NY team, you become a legend and have endless marketing opportunities.

I know they seem to love the idea of him playing for the Raiders, but honestly, that is probably the worst situation any QB or HC should want to be in right now.  That's a division where the other 3 teams have 2 sure fire HOF coaches and a 3rd who just won the NCAA NC and has been to a SB, as well as maybe the best QB ever in his prime, and two other great young QB's (I really like what I've seen from Nix this year).

If the Raiders didn't have all that in their division I'd get the appeal, but the Raiders are so far behind those other 3 teams in the division, it's just not a situation I'd want to be drafted into if I'm a QB right now.

And it's what I've tried to tell those of us rooting for us to lose to rise up in draft order. Substantively from a historical perspective, who's to say that four or five draft spots and one particular player will be the superior pick in hindsight? If someone tells me this, I'll scoff. Like I've always said, "Crystal balls are overrated."

That division is brutal. They may end up sending 3 teams to the playoffs this season. You can make an argument that Mahomes isn't' even in the prime of his career age-wise. Herbert and Nix are younger than Mahomes. And as you pointed out, there a 3 VERY COMPETENT coaches in the AFC West. I would not want to play the Chiefs, Chargers, and Broncos 2x a year as a rookie. Then again, it may make any QB better almost immediately having to face those teams out of the gate.

Wait how are the Raiders the worst situation?

Do you realize the sleeping Giant that is Brock Bowers? That kid is the next great TE and I would take him over any WR not named Jefferson or Chase. That's absolutely the best spot for Shedeur.

People pay attention to Bowers he's literally putting up insane numbers with 3rd string QBs. I hate to see him with a legit QB.

I'm never a fan of "tanking". I can see maybe not going all out in the last game of the season, but I'd never try to lose games on the back end of a season to get a top 5 pick

1) The guy you want could be a bust.

2) He could get hurt.

3) The lack of talent or poor coaching could hinder his development

4) Or, he could just be a bad fit for the team and would do better elsewhere

I remember the years where some people on this board were in favor of "tanking for Tua" or "tanking for Trevor". I don't think either of those guys has shown proven to be elite QBs. Tua was looking like a bust until Flores moved on and the Dolphins hired a coach who could maximize Tua's ability. Lawrence is still young and could improve, but we are all waiting to see him live up to the hype that he was the next great QB in the NFL.

Where a player goes is much more important than where he is chosen in the draft.
