Has there ever been a season where 9 fuging teams win 4 or less games. A third of the league is in contention for the number 1 pick. The Bears haven't won a game in 3 months and they are picking 9th.

It's really crazy. Never seen anything like this in all my years of watching the NFL.

true, but teams will fall in love with guys at pro days and combines.  It happens every year.  Anthony Richardson had no business being a top 10 pick.  Neither JJ Mccarthy or Bo Nix (Who has been a good pick) would have been early first round picks either, but teams fall in love with guys.  IMO Jalen Milroe, Shedeur Sanders, and Cam ward all go first round for sure, 2 of those top 5.  I also think the "fell in love because of underwear workouts" winner is going to be Drew Allar because he possesses next level arm talent.

“This draft is weak” comments happen every year. It’s always going to better next year until next year comes around.

Not necessarily. Happens with QB classes because people dissect these guys so much until they dislike them all, but this is arguably the least top heavy draft since like 2013.

“1st round QB” definition has changed since the rookie wage scale.  It’s no longer a death sentence to over draft the most necessary position high in the draft.  But you may be right.  We’ll just have to hold our breath and see what shakes out.

If you're a team looking for an instant starter you will not find one in this draft. There might be a practice squad upgrade here or there for us though. As for a FA upgrade I'm at a loss. I would be shocked if they drafted a qb late to replace Andy as a "developmental" qb. The offseason is going to be a hoot.

Nobody will find one on purpose. There is always one weirdo that everyone thinks is a JAG and becomes average or so.

We aren’t drafting a QB.  I wasn’t trying to imply that in any stretch,  I just meant the teams that need them will push other top prospects down the line to us.

Best case scenario we get to select the first defensive player in the draft.

Thats what I'm hoping for. I hope everyone goes QB crazy in April and we get our pick of the litter on defense.

Wasn't implying you were. I was referring to the overall draft and threw in my speculation about the Panthers. Sorry for the confusion.

    • Good pass rushers in this draft: At least 10 good ones even if none of them are elite I guess.  - Abdul Carter (Penn State), Mykel Williams (Georgia), Nick Scourton (Texas A&M), James Pearce Jr (Tennessee), Landon Jackson (Arkansas), Mike Green (Marshall), JT Tuimoloau (Ohio State), Jack Sawyer (Ohio State), Princely Umanmeilen (Mississippi), LT Overton (alabama), Kyle Kennard (SC)
    • I don’t feel he has enough pass rush moves nor enough quickness to react and always  tackle nfl caliber athletes in open space, and we saw how that capped out with a similar style in Brian Burns barely eclipsing 10 sacks if he’s lucky. But if we want to continue recruiting homegrown talent, I watched just as much of James Pearce Jr.’s tape, coming away very impressed. He plays stronger than he’s listed with a capability to keep the tackles from locking him up with his wingspan and strength, and then can shift into a ridiculously fast first step in another direction getting by in no time. And those are plays where he’s playing both the run and pass possibilities. On passing downs I’ve seen insane plays of him jumping the snap just as fast as the highlights of Abdul Carter, and this included a multi-sack game against Alabama against high caliber talent. Even though he needs to put on some mass, he low key looked a lot tougher against the run than Abdul Carter as well. I think he’s like 20 going on 21 too? Trade back a few spots if one of the top QBs are on the board and draft James. Then use the extra pick to draft dt help in addition to another edge/secondary help or dt mauler with the pick you got from the rams. Let’s make this defense scurrry again
    • We should try to draft WRs like #4 from OSU
