Panthers sitting at #7.

Giants just fumbled the bag.  How you going to play a QB that just don’t give a fug like this guy and think you are safe lol

I'm told he only scored 5 TDs today because he is surrounded by pro bowlers and hall of fame talent.

Yes the Giants did, but so did we last week.

We'd be sitting at #2 right now had we lost last week.

And now that I think about it after my other post in a different thread about how I think NE beats the Bills next week.

There is a very real chance that winning last week will end up costing us the #1 pick in the draft.

Which means we could have traded back into about the pick we're going to end up having in the end.  So that win last week will less be about the draft position it cost us, but more the additional draft picks we would have picked up by trading back to the same spot we'll end up.

So that win might have cost us a couple extra future 1st round picks in reality.

I hope we don't try to get cute and start trading up with any of these additional picks. Just let the draft fall to us.

Yes and no

No, don't do it with any of the picks in the first 4 rounds, let those chips fall.

But I'd be all for using all of the 5th round and later picks to get additional 3rd and 4th rounders which have a better chance on hitting.  I'd rather have 2 more late 3rds or early 4ths than have the 6 picks in rounds 5 and 7.

11 rookies aren't making the Week 1 roster anyways, I'd package them all up for whatever we can get in the 4th round or better.  And if we can't get them, I'd just trade them for picks in next year's draft where we might be able to use them to trade up for a QB if needed.

very real possibly we have top 5 pick, at worse something like 9. Could be as high as 2 if Jags, Gaints and Jets win and we lose against the Falcons.

My hope is we are inside the top 5 with a team like the Giants or Raiders chomping at the bit to get a QB and they trade up so we can gather some top picks. Would be a nice to "recoup" from the Bryce trade and still possibly get a top edge rusher.

And if that doesnt work out, hey we still will probably get a top defensive player inside the top 10.

Agreed. This team is woefully lacking in talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball. A shrewd GM should be able to walk away with 3 starters on defense in 2025 just by picking the best available defensive player on the board when when our number come up during the the first 2 days of the draft.

We could even find a starting center to replace Corbett. A stat I posted a couple of weeks ago showed that 50% of the CENTERS in the NFL are found on day 3 of the draft or are undrafted. Cade Mays has been better than I thought, but you could probably find a better player to play the position in round 4.

Cade Mays = Matt Paradis
