Receiver, right?

I'm fine with a game breaking receiver if we can find pass rush via free agency.

Getting Derrick Brown back and hopefully keeping a healthy Jaycee Horn would help the defense a lot.

I don't think there is a blue chip can't miss pass rusher in this draft, even the top pass rushers are more of projects than sure fire guys, more in the mold of a Burns who might take a couple of years of development before they can be great.

Even if we don't take T-Mac, I still don't like taking any of these pass rushers around pick 5ish, I'd much rather use our cap room to address the issue, with proven vets who will make more of an immediate impact.

Take the stud who will be a true outside #1 WR, something we haven't had since Smitty.

Not against it...

Also gotta figure out whether Jonathan Brooks is ever going to be healthy.

An ACL this late in the year would probably be mid-season next year at best IMO.

I really wouldn't mind drafting a big back in the 4th-6th round range.

Cam Skattebo and Kalel Mullings come to mind.

Do any of you seriously trust this scouting staff and GM to actually evaluate and draft good talent?  Morgan has more than proven this year that he is not the man for the job and is Fitterer part 2.

Who would have known this, he didn't work under him for years or anything.

I don’t think the Panthers should count on Brooks in 2025. You have to think missing two NFL seasons would not be a super great way to start a great career.

Veteran pass rushers cost more than the GDP of some countries 😕

We're like 5 or something now. I'm just saying that Mason Graham and Tetairoa McMillan have to be in the discussion. Your wishlist is easily adoptable though.

2024 flew by. It seems like we were just discussing the draft. The FO may have shanked that one, but hope springs eternal.

currently we have the 6th pick, hopefully a pass rusher will be there.

We are pick 7. We leapfrogged the Raiders but the Jets slipped by us with a worse SOS. We have to hope the Browns beat Miami now and then we’d slide to 6 and maybe Miami really rests next week as they’d be eliminated. They are playing the Jets next week.

That's why one of my wishes is for some changes to the scouting department.

Regardless of whether or not he should be, I'd be shocked to see Morgan fired.

If the Giants dump Joe Schoen, his familiarity with Morgan could bring him here. Plus if I remember right he's been with the Panthers before in a lesser role (I'd have to look it up to be sure).

So far his picks weren't great this year but also weren't as bad as Fitterers.

He also did a decent job with Mike Jackson, Hunt, Lewis, and Jewell. I'm lukewarm and need another offseason before I count him out. If Fitterer gets two offseasons Morgan should as well.

I'm not a huge fan of Cole Spencer or Jared kirksey for that matter, but either Morgan or Tepper might be. I'd happily move on from one or both.

We still have Scot McCloughan's son on the scouting staff. I've been wishing for years that we could get daddy on board.

(conditional on keeping him sober of course) 😕

...I always thought that since Morgan played the game and was in the trenches he'd have some invaluable insight on talent.... after pick 1 and 2 last year I'm reevaluating that opinion.

Morgan's background is nearly all in pro personnel.

He needs a top notch college scouting guy running that department. I don't think Jared Kirksey is that guy.

I agree he gets one more year, but I don't trust he will do anything with it. He actually traded UP for XL and Brooks, imagine that. We have little to no draft capital and he spends it on projects. This whole scouting department plus him need to be shown the door.

Starting to wish he'd paid more attention to Bucky Irving than Jonathan Brooks.

Mind you, Brooks looked pretty good in what little action he saw, but you have to be able to stay healthy.
