I really think these guys get too cute and try to outsmart each other. We all wanted Ladd because we aren't professional scouts and just go off the eye test. elite route runner, 4.39 speed, catches everything thrown his way. easy peasy

It makes no sense to take a WR in the first round with significant deficiencies at their core function, catching the ball. Perhaps they felt that's the most easily fixable thing but the Raiders (as one example) tried it forever and failed miserably year after year.
