Hot Take: This team will never get over the hump, until we move on from Bryce.

If Bryce Young were 5 inches taller and playing the exact same these threads wouldn’t even get made.

They absolutely would, just like they were when Teddy was QB and when Sam was QB. Baker too to some degree but that was doomed to fail from the start.

Yeah, but see....those random throws don't make him not Teddy two gloves.  Because Teddy two gloves had those random throws too that went against his norm.

I think if Bryce turned into Teddy B the passer....we should be happy.  Not mad.  Because Bryce adds to that a better aspect with his slipperiness and legs.

I can see that a little. However we have to remember Teddy had Robby Anderson, DJ Moore, Curtis Samuel and a young Christian McCaffrey. I just need to see Bryce with a playmaking receiver or two before I make final judgment. Not that Thielen isn't good, but he's a possession receiver that will sneak one by you if you're not paying attention.

remember, he actually only had Mike Davis in reality.  A random journeyman RB.  CMC effectively out the whole season.  Basically everyone around him was some variant of a NFL JAG minus DJ Moore.  That was Curtis' best season in the NFL w/ Teddy.  That was Robbie's only 1000k season.

people turned hard on Teddy and actually sided w/ Rhule at the time.  Teddy in reality, was one of the few things they did right.  He was actually the perfect bridge QB and get the team right QB.  He just couldn't keep quiet Rhule and company were lacking NFL basics....and he said it as nice as possible.

Teddy and Rhule both sucked, but Rhule unfortunately got a little benefit of the doubt given his new coach status. Plenty of ubiquitous suckage happening in Carolina these recent years. Teddy was a guy that had shown for years he was only as good as the team around him and even then was a limiting factor due to his love of checkdowns, which we watched firsthand.

Huddle gonna Huddle.. lol ..

I going to go out on a limb and say if Dalton didn't get hurt we'd be up with Atlanta and Tampa fighting for a playoff spot..

If the best case scenario is another Bryce = Teddy 2 gloves then count me out on him...

What makes you think that exactly?  Admittedly he probably wins the same games as Bryce but I don't think he sneaks one of our losses to a win with him based on how the opposing team played...

Dalton was complete ass in the games leading up to his injury. Maybe you beat NO the second time with him, you probably beat the Giants, you do not beat the Cardinals. So you'd have 1-2 fewer wins. Not more. Because you're also taking away Young's rushing numbers in hopes of more Dalton pass yardage, which as we saw in his last 4 starts, was by no means a guarantee.

Curtis was damn good his last two years here. He was genuinely a threat to score anytime he had the ball in his hands. It’s also easy to forget Robby used to be a good player. He was having huge games for the jets, just didn’t get a ton of volume. He was good here, then fell off a cliff. It happens.

That offense and those weapons were miles better than what we currently have. It’s not even close. DJ Moore was our slowest starting receiver. Our offense was generated by YAC which is something we haven’t seen here since.

Agree they didn't have a stud runner, but Curtis, DJ and Robbie is a fast group. They all are YAC playmakers. Robbie was a legitimate "stretch the defense" deep threat.

And for all his flaws, Joe Brady sets up a YAC scheme.   It’s the plan.  We were top 10 in YAC and Joe Brady is that today as well.  Part of the reason we got no YAC is that’s not what Frank or Canales want to do big picture.

If you're saying he's a modern day John Fox then I  hope he finds his Jake Delhomme and Steve Smith. If he doesn't he's not going to see the end of his contract.
